Bachelor In Paradise: Contestants Who Have Turned Down Appearances

Bachelor in Paradise has become a big hit with Bachelor Nation fans since it first premiered, but some franchise stars chose not to appear on the reality series. The show puts former contestants from The Bachelor and The Bachelorette on a beach together, to try and find love within the group. However, many people have rejected offers to appear on the spin-off. Find out which former contestants declined offers to appear on BiP, and why they decided to say no.

Since BIP premiered in the summer of 2014, many Bachelor Nation alums have made Bachelor in Paradise appearances. Unfortunately, things weren’t always smooth sailing down on the beach. Some previous fan favorites got villain edits; however, others did end up getting into relationships on the show. Now, it’s time to talk about previous contestants who turned down second (or even fifth) opportunities to appear on the series.

According to US Weekly, after being depicted negatively on BIP season 6, Blake Horstmann got an offer to return to the beach for season 7, but turned it down. He stated that the show wasn’t the right environment for him, and that he wasn’t in a good place in his life when producers approached him about a second BiP stint. Now, he is appearing on the Paramount+ series All Star Shore, and just confirmed his relationship with co-star, Giannina Gibelli.

Blake is not the only Bachelor Nation alum who has rejected an offer. Demi Burnett, Ben Flajnik, and Peter Weber also rejected offers to film the series. Two-time BiP star Demi said that she’s not returning to the BiP beach anymore. She did entertain the idea of having her own show, whereas Ben reportedly turned down the opportunity a whopping five times because the timing wasn’t right.

The Bachelor 24 lead Peter was contacted to appear on the upcoming Bachelor in Paradise season 8, which premieres this fall. However, after not being able to agree on a contract, Peter declined the offer to appear. According to the former Bachelor, as per US Weekly: “I had gotten the days off. I had this month off to go out there and I was going to give it a shot. I honestly was.” He also stated that it was the one series in Bachelor Nation that he hadn’t tried yet, adding that he wanted to check it off his list. However, viewers won’t be seeing him on the beach this season.

Despite receiving offers to search for love on the Bachelor in Paradise beach, reappearing on the series just wasn’t in the cards for everyone. There is a possibility that fans may see some of the people discussed here today on the series in future seasons. However, that seems unlikely, as many of them want to move on from their time on the show. Not everyone is quite ready to give up, though, so certain alums will appear on the upcoming season of Bachelor In Paradise this fall. Viewers will just have to watch BiP to find out which contestants make their way down to the beach.
