Bachelor In Paradise: Brittney Weldon Cries After Jamie Doran Rejection

Brittney Weldon, a contestant on the Australian Bachelor in Paradise, opened up and cried to viewers about her heartbreaking rejection from Jamie Doran and her struggle to find love. Weldon tried to get a date from Doran in the first few episodes of the Aussie show, but ended up in the dreaded friend-zone instead. Although she didn’t win over Jamie, she easily won over the fans’ hearts when she vulnerably admitted to her difficulty in finding love and said “I don’t know what it feels like for somebody to like me.”

This isn’t Weldon’s first time on the beach. The Australian lady appeared on Bachelor in Paradise two times before, but never found much luck in love. On the premiere episode of the season, Weldon went on a two-on-one date with fellow castmates Timm Hanly and Brittany Hockley. Although Weldon and Hanly had fun together, it quickly became clear that his connection with Hockley was stronger. After that, Weldon turned her attention to Doran. Unfortunately, Doran didn’t reciprocate her feelings and ultimately decided not to give her a rose.

Weldon’s unsuccessful efforts at creating connections had her questioning herself. She said, “It’s so hard to watch people around you find connections and you just think to yourself: ‘What am I doing wrong?‘” After the episode aired, however, Weldon took to Instagram to assure fans that she was on the show to find love, not fame (via Daily Mail). “Most people say reality TV isn’t about finding love it’s about fame but I can 100% say that I am and was there every time for all of the right reasons,” she wrote on her story. Weldon also didn’t let the rejection keep her down. She added that watching the moment play out on TV  made her “stronger and excited for what’s to come.”

Although Brittney Weldon left the show alone, she’s certainly not the only one to do so. There have been numerous Bachelor in Paradise hopefuls who have left the show loveless. For Weldon though, her lack of connections isn’t limited to the show. She also said, “It’s not even about Paradise. It’s just about love in general. I’ve never been past the first date in so long.”

If there’s anything that The Bachelor and The Bachelorette have taught us, it’s that most reality TV love ends in heartbreak. It’s often the fan favorites and the most beloved cast members that leave the show in tears. Those heart-wrenching moments, however, have been the catalyst some need to find love later on. For Bachelor in Paradise‘s Brittney Weldon, her unwavering dedication to finding love will likely serve her well in the future.
