Classic action movie muscle-man Dolph Lundgren and Aquaman co-star Ludi Lin posted a selfie online, and it looks the two are becoming real pals as they work together on the DCEU movie. Lundgren plays King Nereus and Lin plays Murk in the upcoming film starring Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Amber Heard as Mera, Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Black Manta and Willem Dafoe as Nuidis Vulco.
In another recent online posting, Lundgren gave fans a taste of the underwater training he’s doing to prepare for the role of Nereus, king of Xebel. Training videos are a popular thing with the whole Aquaman cast in fact: Amber Heard has posted more than one, and Jason Momoa also showed off his sword fighting and trident training.
The new selfie featuring Lundgren and Lin was a lot less hardcore than the training videos, though both of them certainly look to be in fine shape. The Twitter account Aquaman Shrine shared the smiling snapshot.

Lundgren may be smiling here, but he certainly won’t be a happy fellow in Aquaman when he’s appears as the villainous Nereus, who claims Amber Heard’s Mera as his own and sets out to kill Aquaman. Power Rangers star Ludi Lin appears as Murk, a military leader who in the comic books switches allegiances between Aquaman and his brother Orm. The character of Orm, who in the comics is transformed into a supervillain named Ocean Master, is played in the movie by Patrick Wilson (Fargo).
Shooting on Aquaman commenced in Australia in May and since then there hasn’t been a ton of news, except that Michael Beach was added to the cast as the character Jesse Cane, a modern-day pirate who may actually be the father of Black Manta. Warner Bros. is doing what it can to keep plot details about Aquaman under wraps, but a few things have surfaced, like a synopsis revealing that the film will center on Aquaman as a reluctant ruler who is caught between land dwellers who keep polluting the seas and Atlanteans who want to rise up and invade the surface world. Stakes were always high for Aquaman as a key standalone film in the DCEU, but those stakes arguably went up even more when Wonder Woman hit theaters this summer and turned out to be a massive world-wide hit. Director James Wan has his work cut out for him bringing Aquaman to life.
