The premiere date for the upcoming season of Doctor Who has been revealed. The long-running British science fiction show originally aired for 26 seasons between 1963 and 1989 before being revived in 2005. The upcoming season 14 will follow Ncuti Gatwa as the regenerating Time Lord known as The Doctor, who has already made appearances in the 60th anniversary episode “The Giggle” and the 2023 Christmas special “The Church on Ruby Road.”
The official BBC Twitter account for the show announced the release date for Doctor Who season 14 (which is being called “season 1” after its Disney+ acquisition). See the post below:
It includes an image of the Fifteenth Doctor and his companion Ruby Sunday (Millie Gibson) leaning against the TARDIS. The caption announces that season 14 will premiere on BBC iPlayer in the UK on May 11 and Disney+ in other territories on May 10, a release that occurs at the “same time” because of the spread of time zones. More to come…
Doctor Who
Originally premiered in 1963, Doctor Who is a sci-fi series that follows a powerful being known as a Time Lord, referred to as the Doctor. Using an interdimensional time-traveling ship known as the TARDIS, the Doctor travels time and space with various companions as they solve multiple problems and help avert catastrophe as much as they almost cause it. Though the Doctor is always the same character, they experience regenerations, allowing them to be recast every few seasons as a unique immortal being with new personality traits.
