Avengers: EVERY Confirmed Victim of Thanos’ Infinity War Snap

Avengers: EVERY Confirmed Victim of Thanos’ Infinity War Snap

Here’s every confirmed character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe who was a victim of Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War. In the lead up to Marvel Studios’ highly-anticipated 2018 blockbuster, Marvel fans speculated over the possibility of the film including Thanos’ snap from the comics. Thanos collected all six of the Infinity Stones by the end of the movie and was nearly defeated by Thor, but he didn’t go for the head.

The result was Thanos using the full power of the Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity Stones to snap half of all life across the universe out of existence. The Mad Titan was driven to rebalance the universe after watching his home planet, Titan, previously crumble and saw that the universe as a whole was on the same path. Thanos had been re-balancing the galaxy best he could for years before, but the snap randomly wiped out half of the universe’s population. This sent the galaxy into a state of chaos, and even after the Avengers killed Thanos a few weeks later, they could not immediately reverse his act. After the five-year time jump in Avengers: Endgame though, the Avengers eventually managed to bring everyone back safely and defeat Thanos again.

Thanos’ snap might have happened in Avengers: Infinity War, but the fallout of the universe-altering event has continued to be explored in subsequent films. Ant-Man and The Wasp, Avengers: Endgame, and Spider-Man: Far From Home each revealed new victims of Thanos’ snap, and there is still a chance that more victims could be revealed in future movies and Disney+ shows. For now, here is every confirmed victim of Thanos’ snap.

Betty Brant

Avengers: EVERY Confirmed Victim of Thanos’ Infinity War Snap

Betty Brant (Angourie Rice) made her MCU debut in Spider-Man: Homecoming as one of Peter Parker’s classmates. But when she returned in Spider-Man: Far From Home, which is set after Avengers: Endgame, Betty had barely aged at all. This is because she was also a victim of Thanos’ snap. Like the rest of her class who fell prey to the snap, Betty had to repeat part of high school.

Betty Ross?

Betty Ross (Liv Tyler) might be another victim of Thanos’ snap. She hasn’t returned to the MCU since her debut in 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, but the Russo brothers were asked about her fate after Infinity War. The directors said in an interview that she was a victim of the snap, but there is no evidence in the film to confirm this. For now, she should be considered as a victim of Thanos’ snap, and the truth could come out if she returns in She-Hulk as is rumored.

Black Panther

T’Challa aka Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) was shown to be a victim of Thanos’ snap during Avengers: Infinity War. The king of Wakanda was one of the first characters to turn to dust, and his vanishing came just a few months after his solo film was released. He was one of the first people to emerge from the portals at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Cooper Barton

Hawkeye and family in Avengers Endgame

The oldest child of Clint and Laura Barton, Cooper Barton was among those who turned to dust due to Thanos’ snap. Cooper’s vanishing happened at the beginning of Avengers: Endgame and he was shown reunited with his father by the end of the movie.

Doctor Strange

Doctor Strange in Avengers Infinity War

Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) knew he was going to be one of the victims of Thanos’ snap. Strange saw 14,000,605 possible futures and he was among those who turned to dust in the one scenario where Thanos was defeated. Strange said this was the only way and ultimately was proven to be right.

Drax

Drax in Guardians of the Galaxy

Drax the Destroyer (Dave Bautista) was confirmed as a victim of Thanos’ snap during Avengers: Infinity War. After appearing in two Guardians of the Galaxy films, Drax finally got to come face-to-face with Thanos. He was on Titan at the time of the snap and was the second Guardian to turn to dust.

Falcon

Falcon Infinity War

Sam Wilson aka Falcon (Anthony Mackie) turned to dust at the end of Avengers: Infinity War too. He took part in the Battle of Wakanda but didn’t stand much of a chance against Thanos. When the Mad Titan eventually snapped his fingers, Falcon vanished just before War Machine had a chance to find him.

Flash Thompson

Flash Thompson (Tony Revolori) was revealed to be a snap victim during Spider-Man: Far From Home. He was another one of Peter’s classmates who happened to turn to dust and miss the next five years. While he also has to repeat part of high school, Flash tried to use the time jump to pass as being five years older than he actually is so he could get alcohol during the flight to Europe.

Groot

Groot was another victim of Thanos’ snap following the Battle of Wakanda. He turned to dust with Rocket by his side and uttered one more “I am Groot” before he vanished. James Gunn revealed that this translated to Groot calling Rocket “Dad.” They were finally reunited during Avengers: Endgame.

Hank Pym

Michael Douglas as Hank Pym in Ant Man

Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) was later revealed to be a victim of Thanos’ snap. During the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and The Wasp, Hank was among those who turned to dust while Scott Lang was in the Quantum Realm. He was last seen attending Tony Stark’s funeral.

Jane Foster?

Jane Foster (Natalie Portman) might also be a victim of Thanos’ snap. The Russo brothers said in an interview that she was among the snap victims and the script for Avengers: Endgame originally included confirmation of this. But, the films have yet to verify this, so Thor: Love and Thunder could still change course if need be.

Janet van Dyne

Ant-Man and the Wasp Janet Van Dyne

Janet van Dyne (Michelle Pfeiffer) turned to dust during the mid-credits scene for Ant-Man and The Wasp. She had only recently returned from the Quantum Realm before Thanos’ snap made her vanish from the real world again. Janet was present for Tony’s funeral at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Laura Barton

Linda Cardellini as Laura Barton in Avengers Age of Ultron

Laura Barton (Linda Cardellini) was revealed as a snap victim during the opening of Avengers: Endgame. Her disappearance pushed Hawkeye to become Ronin over the next five years, and it was her phone call that came after Hulk’s snap that proved it worked. She was reunited with Clint at the end of Endgame.

Lila Barton

Lila Barton was also snapped by Thanos at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. She was practicing shooting a bow and arrow with her father when the event happened, which was shown at the beginning of Avengers: Endgame. Lila was reunited with her family at the end of the movie.

Mantis

Mantis Guardians of the Galaxy

Even before she turned to dust, Mantis (Pom Klementieff) realized that something was happening. She was the first member of the Guardians to be a victim of Thanos’ snap. Mantis returned to join the fight against 2014 Thanos at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

Maria Hill

Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill

Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) was shown to be a victim of Thanos’ snap at the end of Avengers: Infinity War. Her appearance came during the mid-credits scene and she turned to dust after seeing a few different strangers disappear. The real Maria Hill was last seen at the end of Avengers: Endgame, although a Skrull portrayed her in Spider-Man: Far From Home.

May Parker

May Parker (Marisa Tomei) was also turned to dust by Thanos’ snap. The aunt to Peter Parker was among Thanos’ off-screen snap victims, with her fate being revealed in Spider-Man: Far From Home. When she returned, the apartment she and Peter previously lived in had new residents, forcing them to find a new place to call home.

Michelle Jones

Zendaya as MJ

Spider-Man: Far From Home also confirmed that Michelle Jones (Zendaya) was a snap victim. Her disappearance happened off-screen, as did her return. It is not known where she was when the snap happened, but the time she lost meant retaking part of high school.

Nathaniel Barton

The youngest of the Barton children, Nathaniel Barton was also snapped by Thanos. His disappearance happened at the beginning of Avengers: Endgame just before he got his hotdog with mayonnaise. He was later shown reunited with his family.

Ned Leeds

Ned Leeds (Jacob Batalon) was also snapped by Thanos off-screen. His fate as one of the snap victims was teased at the end of Avengers: Endgame, with Spider-Man: Far From Home confirming he was among those who disappeared. It isn’t known where he was when the snap occurred.

Nick Fury

Samuel L Jackson and Nick Fury in Avengers Infinity War

Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) was the last snap victim shown in Avengers: Infinity War. The film’s post-credits scene ended with him turning to dust just after paging Captain Marvel. He returned for Tony Stark’s funeral at the end of Avengers: Endgame and was last seen starting SWORD.

Scarlet Witch

Elizabeth Olsen as Scarlet Witch in Avengers Infinity War

Wanda Maximoff aka Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) was another victim of Thanos’ snap in Avengers: Infinity War. She turned to dust mourning over the lifeless body of Vision and returned with a vengeance in Avengers: Endgame. She nearly single-handily defeated Thanos and the fallout of her disappearance and death of Vision will continue to be explored in WandaVision.

Sharon Carter

Sharon Carter (Emily VanCamp) was snapped by Thanos off-screen. She was last seen in Captain America: Civil War but Avengers: Endgame confirmed that she was a snap victim too. Her picture was shown among those who disappeared, but the details surrounding her experience haven’t been revealed. Sharon’s return in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier could reveal more.

Shuri

Shuri

The ending of Avengers: Infinity War left fans to believe Shuri (Letitia Wright) survived the snap, but Avengers: Endgame proved otherwise. She was listed as one of the snap victims, an event which happened off-screen as a result. Shuri did return to fight Thanos in the end and returned to Wakanda.

Sif?

Jaimie Alexander as Lady Sif in Thor

Sif (Jaimie Alexander) might be another victim of Thanos’ snap. The Russo brothers said in an interview that she was among those who disappeared, but the movies have so far yet to confirm whether or not this is the case. She hasn’t been in an MCU movie since Thor: The Dark World, so a clear answer on what happened to her might not come unless Sif does return in Thor 4. If she doesn’t, then the Russos’ explanation could potentially be treated as canon.

Spider-Man

Spider-Man Infinity War Death Iron Man

Peter Parker aka Spider-Man (Tom Holland) was another one of Thanos’ snap victims in Avengers: Infinity War. He turned to dust on Titan after telling Tony Stark he didn’t want to go, making for one of the film’s most heartbreaking scenes. Peter did return in Avengers: Endgame to help defeat Thanos but had to say goodbye to Iron Man in the end.

Star-Lord

Peter Quill aka Star-Lord (Chris Pratt) was also snapped by Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. He was the last of the Guardians on Titan to disappear. When he returned in Avengers: Endgame, he was eventually reunited with Gamora, although she wasn’t the same one that fell in love with him.

Thaddeus Ross?

Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross (William Hurt) is another character who might have been snapped by Thanos off-screen. He only appeared after the snap at Tony’s funeral, and those involved with Avengers: Endgame believe he was snapped. The final script for the movie even included his name among a list of victims, although that didn’t make it into the movie itself. Should Ross return in a future MCU project, his fate could then be confirmed.

Wasp

The vanishing of Hope van Dyne aka Wasp (Evangeline Lilly) happened at the end of Ant-Man and The Wasp. She disappeared as one of the victims of Thanos’ snap alongside her parents while Scott Lang was in the Quantum Realm. Wasp was brought back five years later and took part in the final battle against Thanos.

Winter Soldier

Bucky joining the fight in Avengers: Infinity War

Bucky Barnes aka Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) was the first snap victim shown in the MCU. Not long after Thanos’ snap took place, Avengers: Infinity War showed Bucky crumble right before Captain America’s eyes. He returned alongside the rest of the heroes in Avengers: Endgame‘s final battle.

Wong?

Wong in Infinity War

The fate of Wong (Benedict Wong) is somewhat confusing, but he might be a victim of the snap too. The script for Avengers: Endgame called for a reference to Wong being among the snap victims but the movie didn’t include it. Official marketing materials for Endgame did indicate that he survived the snap, but he also wasn’t shown at any point before Hulk reversed it. With Wong slated to return in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, his fate could be confirmed then.
