Attack on Titan’s Final Part Gets Official Release Date In New Trailer

The “Final Arc” of Attack on Titan begins at long last with the announcement of Part 3 of the anime’s Final Season. The official Twitter account for the series reveals that Attack on Titan Final Season Part 3 will begin its broadcast in Japan in March, hyping up fans with a brand-new trailer.

Available To Stream On Hulu

Part 3 of Attack on Titan Final Season will be split into two halves, with the first one airing on March 4 on NHK General, and the second half coming later in 2023. MAPPA Studios is still producing the anime, with Yuichiro Hayashi confirmed as art director. A short but intense trailer teases the cataclysmic events shown in the finale of the series, with the Rumbling guided by Eren Yaeger in his Founding Titan form threatening to trample the entire world.

Attack on Titan‘s Final Season Part 3 Will Finally Show The Controversial Ending Of Eren’s Story

Attack on Titan‘s Final Season has received more than its share of criticism. Many fans expected Part 2 to actually conclude the series, and they felt frustrated learning that they had to wait instead. MAPPA is currently one of the most in-demand studios, as they are currently producing some of the most popular anime, including Chainsaw Man and Vinland Saga. To guarantee the quality that fans expect from Attack on Titan, MAPPA has taken a lot of time between seasons (including an infamous four-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2), so this announcement could not have come sooner.

This Final Season will receive even more attention because the finale of the series – which manga readers are already aware of – is so controversial. It sparked an endless debate, mostly revolving around Eren’s behavior and his decisions, that still rages today, leading to series creator Hajime Isayama openly addressing this criticism ahead of his appearance at the ANnime NYC convention. The trailer for Part 3 focuses on the horror caused by Eren and the Wall Titans marching off to trample the world outside Paradis, but it also has some meaningful shots of a younger and much more humane Eren.

Fans’ excitement is understandably through the roof, and Part 3 of Attack on Titan‘s Final Season is already a strong contender for anime of the year 2023, even if the split into two cours will be hard to endure. While it has not been officially announced yet, it’s almost guaranteed that Attack on Titan‘s Final Season Part 3 will be streaming on Cunchyroll, where fans can also find all the other seasons of the anime to get a refresher before diving into the conclusion of this epic and tragic story.
