Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: How to Unlock Wrath of Druids

Ubisoft is finally releasing Wrath of Druids, the first of two paid expansions for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. Players looking to start the content will need to complete a few steps before they can access the DLC.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s post-launch roadmap has involved a mixture of free and paid DLC. So far, the game has received two free festival updates, bringing new side quests, armor, minigames and more to players, as well as new River Raid system. Wrath of Druids is the first of two major paid expansions currently planned for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The second paid DLC, The Siege of Paris, is currently scheduled to release in Summer 2021. At least two more free content updates are planned for the rest of 2021.

Once players have bought Wrath of Druids, they’ll need to make sure they’ve completed a few simple boxes before they can begin the DLC. Players need to have completed the opening hours of the game, left Norway, and established the Viking settlement of Ravensthorpe. This should only stop the newest of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla players from accessing Wrath of Druids as soon as its released. Players who have access to Ravensthorpe will find a questline that begins with a new arrival on their docks, a trader from Ireland named Azar. Speaking with Azar will reveal that they have been sent by the King of Ireland, who is interested in opening trading relations with Ravensthorpe. It is recommended that players reach power level 55 before starting the content. Players do not need to have beaten Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s main story, but can go back and forth between Ireland and England as much as they want using the Atlas feature.

What’s Included in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Wrath of Druids

Besides new story content, Wrath of Druids will add more abilities and weapons to Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, as well as a new mount. Players will also be engaging with a new trading system feature that only appears in Ireland. As part of helping the King of Ireland, Eivor will be sent out to establish trading posts and expanding them with supplies captured during raiding. Eivor will also be contending with the threat caused by the Children of Danu, the titular Druids of the DLC, leading them to fight mythical creatures over the course of the expansion campaign.

The reviews for Wrath of Druids indicate that it is largely more of the same of the base game of Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. While the Ireland countryside is gorgeous, the DLC does not break the mold. Thankfully, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has largely been well-received, so players looking for more ways to spend time in the game shouldn’t be disappointed.

Assassins Creed Valhalla: Wrath of the Druids releases 13 May 2021 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series S/X.
