Archer Season 13 Release Date Revealed By FX

The release date for Archer season 13 has been revealed. Adam Reed’s adult animated sitcom focuses on the workplace misadventures of the secret agent Sterling Archer and his dysfunctional team of seven colleagues at the International Secret Intelligence Service (ISIS). Since its premiere in 2009, the show has received rave reviews from critics and has additionally scored various accolades at the Emmys and other prestigious awards shows. In 2017, the show moved to FX’s sister network, FXX, where Archer was renewed for season 13 in September 2021. Now, there is word on when the new show will arrive.

As announced by FX, Archer season 13 will premiere on Wednesday, August 24, 2022, at 10 p.m. ET/PT. After its cable premiere, the show will be available to stream on Hulu the following day. An episode count for the new iteration hasn’t yet been determined, although judging by the length of the previous shows, season 13 can be expected to consist of 8-9 episodes. New episodes for the show will air every Wednesday after the premiere.

As the new premiere date specifies, Archer will return for its season 13 a full year after the season 12 premiere. 126 episodes in, the show continues to be very popular even today, although some audiences are complaining that the adult animation doesn’t seem to be covering any new ground. With that in mind, it’s likely that season 13 might pave the way for the series’ impending conclusion, presumably setting up season 14 to be the show’s last. One additional change that has been confirmed for Archer season 13 is that the late Jessica Walters won’t return to voice Malory. After her death, her role wasn’t recast, so it’s possible that Archer season 13 wouldn’t include Malory after season 12 gave her a proper and emotional ending. More details will become clear once the show begins airing.
