Aquaman Will Return To Smallville

Aquaman Will Return To Smallville

In two weeks, Smallville returns for its very last season. In its 10th season on air, CW and the producers of the series are doing everything they can to make the most of it for the fans and that includes bringing back many familiar faces. At this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, some major facts were made clear; Lex Luthor is returning to the show this season and Clark Kent will fly and will get his Superman moment.

That’s not all! Returning to the show are fan-favorite series regulars of old, including John Schneider (Jonathan Kent), John Glover (Lionel Luthor), Laura Vandervoort (Supergirl), James Marsters (Brainiac) and Michael Shanks (Hawkman). You can now add to that list Alan Ritchson who will also make appearance in Smallville season 10 as Arthur “AC” Curry (a.k.a. Aquaman).

Michael Ausiello at EW has the exclusive and his source reveals that Aquaman will make his appearance in episode 9, during the November ratings sweeps. Sadly, we haven’t seen AC since back in season 9 when his identity was made known to LuthorCorp.

Could this mean we’ll see a return of Smallville’s version of Justice League? Justin Hartley’s Green Arrow is a series regular and with Alan Ritchson returning as Aquaman, all we need are Cyborg and Impulse (The Flash). Back when the remake of A Nightmare on Elm Street was doing the press rounds, I spoke with Kyle Gallner on the phone and inquired about the chances and his interest of returning to Smallville again to play the speedy character. He was clearly excited at any opportunity to do so and loved when he was on the show but he made it clear, that it’s up to the producers to give his people the call.

As for Black Canary, when our own Anthony Ocasio spoke with Justin Hartley at SDCC, he didn’t think she was returning which is unfortunate – I would’ve liked to have seen all the heroes join forces again. The ever-popular and headline-making season 6 episode/TV movie event, titled “Justice” back in was a major moment for fans of the comics and series alike and it would be appropriate to see them all together again.

Here’s hoping for the epic return of Michael Rosenbaum as Lex.

The tenth, and final, season of Smallville premieres September 24, @8pm on The CW
