Apex Legends: New Season 5 Weapons Guide

Apex Legends: New Season 5 Weapons Guide

During the course of Apex Legends there have been many weapons that have been added to the game, others that have been buffed, and many that have received extensive nerfs. This is nothing new with online games, especially for battle royale titles. The downside though is that players will constantly need to know which weapons are the best and most helpful to use during a match.

Season 5 of Apex Legends has altered the meta of the game quite a bit by altering a few weapons and adding several to the playing field. Those who are just now jumping back into the game may find it difficult to understand which weapons are worth their time. This guide will show players which weapons are the best and which should be abandoned as soon as possible.

Apex Legends Season Five Best Weapons

Apex Legends: New Season 5 Weapons Guide

Mastiff- The Mastiff was removed from care packages in the game in order to become a normally spawning weapon. This does mean that the weapon has been nerfed considerably, but it is still a very powerful shotgun. The upside is that players will now be able to restock on ammo for the weapon, which makes it a perfect close-range weapon to bring into the final moments of a match.

Kraber- The Kraber is one that will be difficult to find, but those that do will have their hands on the most powerful sniper rifle in the game. One headshot from a Kraber is enough to bring any legend in the game down instantly. Any hit with this weapon will cause massive damage.

L-Star- The L-Star is a great weapon for a player’s arsenal since it does not have to be reloaded and is the fastest firing weapon in the game. The only downside to this weapon is that it can overheat from being fired too much, but players who know how to control their fire won’t have many issues.

R-99- Many Apex Legends players swear by the R-99 and for very good reason. It is a fairly common weapon that has a lot of attachments that can boost its capabilities. It is capable of holding a lot of ammo and is only rivaled in speed by the L-Star. Players who wield it in close-range will be able to shred enemy player’s shields in no time at all.

Longbow- The Longbow is one of the best all-around rifles in the game. It may not be as powerful as sniper rifles like the Kraber, it is a lot more forgiving and has a faster rate of fire. Players who up their skills with the Longbow will consistently find themselves winning more matches.

Hemlock- In a shooting game full of incredible guns, the most important weapon is probably the assault rifle. The Hemlock is one of the best assault rifle options in-game, and will probably be the weapon that good players will strive to have most. The Hemlock deals impressive amounts of damage and is incredibly accurate at short and medium ranges.

Charge Rifle- The Charge Rifle was a fun weapon when it was first introduced, but has been nerfed several times since then. The weapon doesn’t hold enough ammo now and the charging mechanic is likely to get players killed. Luckily, if players do manage to get a hit this weapon will destroy shields pretty quickly.

RE-45- The RE-45 isn’t necessarily a bad weapon, it just doesn’t perform as well as others. It does decent damage to unshielded enemies, but players won’t make if far into a match with it. All of its attachments can be used on the R-99, so players should switch them out as soon as they spot one.

Triple Take- While a sniper that fires several bullets sounds like a great option, it ultimately doesn’t perform as well as other rifles. Players are better off improving their skills with the Longbow.

Alternator- This SMG has been nerfed and buffed so many times that its hard to remember what its capable of half the time. At the moment the only thing that it is capable of doing is killing unskilled players with no shields.

P2020- This pistol just doesn’t have much going for it. It doesn’t do enough damage to kill anything other than players in the early moments of the game.

Mozambique ShotgunOut of all the weapons in Apex Legends, this one is the worst. The Mozambique is bad at being both a shotgun and a pistol. Anyone who gets a kill with this thing is either unnaturally skilled or got very lucky. Most players shouldn’t waste their time though.

Apex Legends can be played on Xbox One, PS4, and PC.
