Animals We Hope Minecraft Adds In 2023

Animals We Hope Minecraft Adds In 2023

Minecraft boasts one of the most diverse wildlife systems in the gaming sphere, but some animals that are still missing could potentially be added in 2023. The beloved sandbox title doesn’t shy away from implementing community feedback, especially during Mob Votes: player surveys that decide which creature will be incorporated into the game next. These events have provided Minecraft with some intriguing new creations, such as the Glow Squid and the Allay – but before adding yet another fantastical being, there are some real-life animals that Mojang should focus on first to complete the game’s ecosystem.

One such animal is actually confirmed to be making its way into desert biomes, and as its release date was slated for 2023, it could appear any day now. Out of everything that’s known about Minecraft‘s 1.20 update, the addition of camels will likely be one of the most exciting changes. This mountable mob, complete with a set of movement abilities, could change the way that players traverse the map. But while camels are a good start, there are a few other mobs that Minecraft could benefit from in the new year.

Minecraft Should Add Wild Deer As A New Mob In 2023

Deer would be fitting for many of Minecraft‘s biomes, and it’s rather surprising that they haven’t been added yet. They could fill a role similar to pigs or cows – passive mobs that drop meat and hides on death – but a good portion of players would probably avoid harming them altogether, as these animals could translate adorably into the game. It would be interesting to witness the deer traveling in herds and protecting their fawn, especially with wolves being their natural predators. White-lipped Deer were replaced by breedable pandas in Minecraft‘s China Edition Mob Vote, but this missed opportunity is one that Mojang should consider bringing to fruition in 2023.

Snakes Could Be A Hostile Animal In Minecraft

Snakes would be much more dangerous than deer, as they would obviously be utilizing poison damage, but they’d make for an entertaining addition to the world of Minecraft nonetheless. There are thousands of different real-life snake species, and so there would be no shortage of inspiration to pull from. Realistically, they could be incorporated into almost any biome, but they would be most beneficial when slithering around deserts and swamp areas, since those environments are comparatively lacking in mobs. The hardest part about incorporating snakes would be animating their thin, slinky bodies, but it would definitely be worth the effort on Mojang’s behalf to see these sly creatures in-game.

Squirrels Should Be A New Minecraft Mob

Among the list of animals that Minecraft needs to add in 2023 are squirrels. These tiny woodland creatures would not only be a cute addition to forest biomes, but they could also potentially have one of the most interesting behavior scripts out of all mobs in the game. Just as in real life, squirrels could be more active in warmer seasons, climbing trees and collecting food, whereas winter could see them lying dormant underground. A hibernation cycle would be an awesome feature to see across the board, but squirrels would be a great place to start. Different varieties of nuts, such as acorns, could be incorporated alongside these mobs, too.

New animals are frequently being patched into the game, but there are still a lot of options that could further flesh out the game’s environment. In particular, deer, snakes, and squirrels could add depth to and fix some of Minecraft‘s biomes in an update. Regardless of whether it’s in patch 1.20, in the next Mob Vote, or elsewhere in 2023 – these creatures would find a perfect home in the world of Minecraft (and likely among the hearts of players, as well).
