The Nintendo Switch’s popular simulation game Animal Crossing is getting its very own makeup pallets through a collaboration with makeup company ColourPop Cosmetics. This makeup line will come in several different styles and will officially go on sale later this month. Animal Crossing fans will need to act fast if they want to pick one up before they sell out.
Animal Crossing: New Horizon has managed to be one of the biggest video games to release in 2020. Despite a very packed industry full of both new games and old ones that have remained popular, Animal Crossing was actually last year’s most discussed game on Twitter. Players are still exploring the game’s world, beautifying their islands to their standards, and hanging out with the adorably odd villagers that populate them.
ColourPop announced on Twitter today that it is releasing a new line of makeup pallets and assorted other products inspired by characters from Animal Crossing: New Horizons. The different pallets take inspiration from Tom Nook and his sons, the two Able sisters, and even Blathers the museum curator. Players will be able to purchase the the Animal Crossing themed makeup starting on January 28th at 10 am PST. It is currently unclear what the price of the makeup will be, or what specific items will be included with each purchase.
Once something becomes as big as Animal Crossing: New Horizons it is only a matter of time before massive amounts of merchandise start getting made. There have been all kinds of merch made in the last year based off the game, like the Animal Crossing gaming chair that Nintendo put out earlier this month. While this game is well known for allowing players a huge amount of customization options on their island or in-game house, these pieces of merchandise are nice in that players can acquire some nice flair for the real world as well.
Nintendo is pretty well known for putting out merchandise based on its games, and the company has managed to make a lot of money off of many of its different properties. Even late last year Nintendo released face masks based on the popular Pokemon franchise. Animal Crossing: New Horizons is pretty big name in the industry right now, so there is little doubt that this makeup line will sell very well. Now everyone just has to bid their time until the end of the month.
