Animal Crossing, Fall Guys, and Portal 2 Could Be Turned Into LEGO Sets

Animal Crossing, Fall Guys, and Portal 2 Could Be Turned Into LEGO Sets

While Super Mario may be leading the pack in terms of video games gone LEGO, other franchises such as Animal Crossing, Fall Guys, and Portal 2 could see the arrival of their own official LEGO sets. The iconic building block has breathed new life into franchises like Star Wars and Harry Potter through video games, and now it seems enthusiasts want to see more video games turned into LEGO sets.

LEGO has been a household name since the first branded brick was created in 1953. Since then, LEGO has gone on to create fantastic sets for numerous franchises, most notably Star Wars. It has even branched out into video games creating some original titles such as LEGO Creator in 1998 and LEGO Alpha Team in 2000. In 2005, the toy company took things a step further by taking an already beloved franchise and turning it into a LEGO video game when LEGO Star Wars: The Video Game was released for the PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC.

Now, a few more video games have the opportunity to be turned into LEGO sets. According to an official LEGO Ideas blog post, Animal Crossing, Fall Guys, and Portal 2 are in the running to become an official LEGO set. They are three of 35 fan-made product ideas that have qualified for the second 2020 LEGO Ideas review period. While these are not legitimate LEGO sets at the moment, they could become actual sets if approved by LEGO reviewers. The sets and creators who are up for review are Nook’s Cranny by Micro_Model_Maker, GLaDOS vs Chell and Wheatley by hachiroku24, and Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout Course by The Real Ashnflash.

In order for a fan-made LEGO product to qualify for review, it first has to be submitted via a post on the official LEGO Idea website. The product idea then needs to garner 10,000 votes from fellow LEGO Ideas users to qualify to be reviewed by the LEGO Group. The idea is reviewed by a panel to decide whether it should go on to production or be scratched. Between the months of May 2020 and September 7, 2020, 35 different fan-made LEGO sets qualified for review which is a record high for qualifying product ideas. All 35, including the three aforementioned video game sets, will be reviewed with the results of said review coming in early 2021.

While these sets haven’t been approved, it would be incredible to see them come to life. Portal 2, Fall Guys, and Animal Crossing are some of the most beloved video game titles and would be a hit for both sides of the deal. Obviously, not all 35 sets can make it to store shelves, but if someone from LEGO is reading, at least one of the video game sets would be great to see in production.
