Angelina’s new powers can fix a huge issue with Manifest season 4’s story. A common complaint regarding the final season’s first ten episodes relates to how Holly Taylor’s character has been utilized thus far. In spite of all the time she’s found herself in mortal danger, it seems Angelina always escapes unscathed.
Angelina’s murder of Grace in the Manifest season 3 finale, created the impression that she would be a key antagonist in the episodes that followed. Not only did that assumption hold true, but Angelina managed to maintain a villainous presence throughout every episode of Manifest season 4, part 1. Even after losing Eden to the Stone family, Angelina’s story continued. But now, she’s so much more than a threat to Eden’s safety. After obtained the Omega Sapphire from Eagan, Angelina brought chaos to the city with its divine abilities. She was stopped in the end, but where the finale left things will enable Angelina to be a thorn in the passengers’ sides in Manifest season 4, part 2 as well.
Manifest Can Finally Justify Angelina Being Season 4’s Villain
Angelina miraculously surviving multiple incidents in Manifest season 4 made it abundantly clear just how much plot armor she possesses on the show. She wasn’t killed or arrested at the fight at Adrian’s passenger safehouse, plus she also made successful getaways both at her parents’ house and in the Manifest season 4, part 1 finale. Despite not being any more special than any other passenger in the series, Angelina feels untouchable at this point. However, what happened in the finale provides a fix for this problem in the form of her new Omega Sapphire powers.
The Omega Sapphire shard being burned into her hand implies that she’ll get to keep those abilities going forward. If that’s true, these powers can be used to justify Angelina continuously evading death or capture as the story unfolds. With real powers at her disposal, Angelina can escape her next encounter with Ben and others without there being the feeling that her survival doesn’t make sense. Using fake Callings to secure a way out is more believable than Angelina simply being lucky enough to get away without being caught.
Angelina’s New Powers May Reveal Her Real Role
Additionally, her seemingly permanent acquisition of the Omega Sapphire powers provides a possible explanation as to what Angelina’s true role in the story actually is. Now that it’s known that the consequences of using the Omega Sapphire are volcanic in nature, it’s become increasingly likely that Angelina is the person destined to bring about the apocalyptic event that’s fated to arrive in the near future. If that turns out to be the case, defeating Angelina may be how the passengers stop the Death Date and save the Lifeboat. If she’s not apprehended and dealt with in time, the end of the world may come to pass on June 2, 2024.
