Among Us Crossover With Fall Guys Finally Happening In Season 4

The long-awaited crossover between Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout and Among Us will finally happen during the former’s Season 4, starting March 22nd. Making its debut on PlayStation 4 as part of the console’s monthly PS+ free game giveaway, Mediatonic’s Fall Guys immediately broke the internet with its obstacle course-styled battle royale. The game quickly became one of the most talked-about games on PlayStation and was almost immediately a Twitch sensation. That is until the fellow viral game, Among Us became just as, if not more, popular than Fall Guys. Most fans of both have wanted the two games to collaborate for some time, but not all are privy to the developers working together.

Since Among Us’s rise to fame, many hecklers online bashed Mediatonic for the decline in popularity of its game, despite the consistent updates and stable community. The term “dead game” quickly became a staple on updates on the official Fall Guys Twitter. While it may have fallen to the wayside, Fall Guys has collaborated with other famous franchises like Doom, Cuphead, and even Godzilla. Microsoft and Nintendo announced last year that they are bringing the battle royale to Xbox and Switch. The developers have also been talking and working with its players since launch; polls and contests to determine new character skins are frequent just on their Twitter.

As reported by IGN, Season 4 of Fall Guys will have new crewmate skins for players to wear starting day one. Revealed by the Season 4 trailer, the new season’s theme is the future, specifically the year 4041. New skins and a new game mode for the season pass are shown-off, ending with a red-suited Fall Guy plummeting into a pit of lava. Some text then popped onto the screen, reading, “Fall Guy was ejected. 1 Impostor remains,” confirming the collaboration. The developer said that the new skin will have secrets for players to discover and will not be the only Among Us skin coming in Season 4.

Like Fortnite, Fall Guys’ cosmetics are entirely for aesthetics and do not impact gameplay whatsoever. However, what these secrets are going to be are an exciting feature to keep players bumbling off platforms. Perhaps tasks will be given to players to complete to unlock certain skins. Seeing as this is not the only skin based off Among Us this season, it’s plausible that hats like the fried egg seen in the trailer or other cosmetics will make their way over to the battle royale.

The fanbase of Among Us may bring more people back to Fall Guys with the new season’s launch, but that doesn’t seem to be what Mediatonic is banking on. Instead, this seems to indicate a new feature that will stretch into other skin lines as the game continues to grow. Regardless, the collaboration between two of 2020’s most popular games during the pandemic is something fans of both games are sure to enjoy over the coming weeks.
