Allen v. Farrow Trailer Explores Woody Allen & Mia Farrow Scandal

Allen v. Farrow will examine the scandal between Woody Allen and Mia Farrow. The acclaimed film director and comedian had a twelve-year relationship with the actress and star of Rosemary’s Baby, sharing three children, one of them being journalist Ronan Farrow. The relationship ended when Farrow discovered Allen having an affair with one of her adopted children, André Previn, Soon-Yi, whom Allen would later marry.

HBO now has a new documentary in their hands, dropping a trailer for Allen v. Farrow. The four-part documentary series is set to premiere on February 21, revealing details that have not been previously known. The full trailer can be seen below:

In 1992, Allen was accused by one of his adoptive children, Dylan Farrow, of sexual abuse. Allen has repeatedly denied the accusation, speaking out in interviews that his relationship with Soon-Yi Previn was cause for the story as an act of vengeance from Mia Farrow. The sexual allegation has since been magnified by the Time’s Up and the #MeToo movement, with Ronan Farrow being in the center of investigative reporting similar to allegations against film producer Harvey Weinstein.

Many celebrities in the industry have long been divided specifically with Allen’s allegations, with some defending the director and others regretting having worked with him on films. Despite the rise of the social movements and more conversations about sexual abuse being brought to the forefront of the industry, Allen has still not been formally charged with any wrongdoing. While it is unclear how much or what specific events Allen v. Farrow will explore and analyze regarding this serious matter, the HBO docuseries will take viewers back to when it all started when Farrow and Allen first met.
