All The Pokémon UNITE All Rounders, Ranked

Pokémon UNITE is one of the newest online Pokémon games that feature characters with all different kinds of abilities that work on a team to score goals on their enemies. All-Rounders are a sub-genre of Pokémon in UNITE that uses a balance of attack damage, crowd control, and gap closing moves to play and, hopefully, win.

All-Rounders are known for strong scaling and the ability to shift their builds to better aid their teams with whatever they need. However strong most of them are, it’s clear that there’s a distinct difference between the ones that can solo carry as a beginner and the characters that need a little extra practice to master.

Machamp

Machamp, one of the best Fighting-type Pokémon, is a melee character that synergizes best with the jungle role in Pokémon UNITE. He has a high critical strike chance and can block enemy hindrances making him a good fighter, especially against crowd control Pokémon.

With this in mind, Machamp is weak because of his lack of range in addition to his only gap-closing ability being reliant on his current move speed buff. To play Machamp and play him well, he will require the Eject Button and some practice with other melee characters that have a little more gap closing utility.

Dragonite

Dragonite smiles and waves in Pokemon.

Dragonite is an underrated character that has high mobility, great range, and low cooldowns. In this game, he can dominate with his high range and do damage out of range of other characters that won’t be able to fight back. Because he often isn’t played in normal matches, he also has the advantage of other players not knowing exactly how he works and what he can do to them.

The problems with Dragonite lie with the fact that his moves don’t upgrade until late in the match and he also struggles against crowd control and characters like Mamoswine that can completely stop him from being able to flee a fight. Dragonite is better played in the jungle or bot lane and has tons of versatility with his builds to ensure that he can help out in different ways depending on the circumstances of the match.

Garchomp

Garchomp leaps in the air in Pokemon.

Garchomp, a dual-type dragon creature, is a great late game All-Rounder that can singularly kill the entire enemy team with his Ultimate move, even though it can be tricky to use. As a melee character, he has the health sustain and damage sustain that makes him an asset. With a Buddy Barrier-held item, Garchomp will also have better health early on, making him a little easier to play.

One of the most difficult things about playing this Pokémon is that he takes so long to scale and reach his final evolution at level 9. He is so weak early and if the rest of his team doesn’t carry in the first half, he won’t be able to reach his potential. One great thing about Garchomp is the fact that even with this weakness, he has gap-closing abilities that help him leave losing fights and chase down low-health enemies.

Charizard

Charizard is one of the strongest All-Rounders in Pokémon UNITE because of his sustained damage and ability to counter most enemy team members. Charizard is a great mid-game teammate and once he gets his UNITE move, this character is practically unstoppable. He is also pretty strong in every phase of the game since he does lasting burn damage.

This being said, Charizard isn’t very strong in the jungle role and is incredibly weak against Blastoise who has some gap-closing abilities and high health. Overall, Charizard is a relatively easy character to play, but he also needs to be careful since he doesn’t have as much health as other All-Rounders.

Lucario

Professor Kukuis Lucario in a battle in the Pokemon Anime

Lucario is one of the best dual-type steel Pokémon and is one of the most challenging characters to learn how to play in this game. Because of how hard his abilities are and the fact that it’s necessary to predict when using his hypermobility, he can be hard to maneuver. However, when played correctly, Lucario is unmatched when it comes to doing damage and gap closing.

Not to mention, Lucario is great to play in any lane because his abilities allow him to kite while also taking minimal damage. Though he’s a highly skilled and high-cost unit to buy, Lucario is definitely worth the time it takes to figure out how to play him and he can dominate with practice.

Tsareena

Tsareena's preview photo for next pokemon unite all rounder

Tsareena is the strongest Grass-type All-Rounders out there. Her early evolution, long-lasting disable, and survivability mechanics all make her one of the best characters in the game. Though she was just recently released to the game, she can be incredibly useful to any team.

With all this said, there are a few drawbacks to this specific character. Tsareena is a difficult Pokémon to learn how to play and she has a smaller health bar than most other All-Rounders. This makes her more vulnerable in team fights especially as she moves during fights from the midline to the front line to get her abilities off as a melee player.
