All Mysterium Challenge Locations In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

Mysterio is causing chaos in New York City in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, and he’s crafted a series of challenges for Miles Morales’ Spider-Man. These challenges, known as Mysteriums or Mysterium Dev Diaries, throw Miles into heavy combat with a few twists like poisonous gas, invisible enemies, and other strange games to mess with Miles’ head.

Mysteriums will feel familiar to anyone who played Marvel’s Spider-Man, as they operate on similar principles to Taskmaster’s challenges. Both have bronze, silver, and gold rankings based on Spider-Man’s speed and efficiency in the challenge. Mysteriums, however, are all combat challenges with special additions. You only need a bronze rank to complete all ten Mysteriums and get the associated trophy and suit.

Where To Find Mysteriums In Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

There are ten Mysteriums in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, with one appearing after the completion of the previous nine. Mysteriums do not appear in the game until halfway through the main story. Once they are unlocked, however, Miles can take them on in any order before the last challenge. Mysteriums appear in Harlem, Central Park, the Upper East Side, Midtown, Chinatown, Downtown Queens, Williamsburg, and Downtown Brooklyn.

The Harlem Mysterium is southwest of the Robert F. Kennedy Bridge leading to Randalls Island. This challenge, “Under Construction”, focuses on defeating all enemies quickly. “Prison Break”, located on the Upper East Side end of the bridge overlooking Ryker’s Island, is another large-scale brawl, the same as “Everyone’s A Critic” in front of the Metropolitan Museum of Art. When you’re done, follow the street south into Midtown, and “The Invisible Enemy” Mysterium will be on your left. This Mysterium focuses on performing finishers.

With Midtown taken care of, swing over to Chinatown for another finisher challenge, “Fight On Time”. This Mysterium is just off Chinatown’s northwest corner. It’s the last Mysterium on the island of Manhattan, as you’ll now need to head across the Williamsburg Bridge and find the Mysterium just north of the bridge’s Williamsburg side. The “Road Rage” Mysterium requires Miles to avoid being hit at all. The other Williamsburg Mysterium, “Grave Decision”, has the same requirement. “Grave Decision” is southeast of “Road Rage” and a few blocks south of the Williamsburg Bridge exit.

If you swing north into Downtown Queens, you can find a unique challenge, “Punch Your Ticket”, in the district’s southeastern corner. This Mysterium is the only one focused on defeating Brutes, the big enemies that need to be stunned before you can beat them up. The last normal Mysterium, “Fear of Heights”, is focused on throwing enemies off the edge of the roof. You can find this challenge northeast of the park in the center of Downtown Brooklyn.

Once you’ve beaten these nine Mysterium challenges, a new Mysterium will pop up on Coney Island in the southeastern corner of Downtown Brooklyn. This Mysterium pits Miles against Mysterio in an epic boss battle. Defeat him here and you’ll get a trophy, “Behind the Masks”, and unlock the Smoke and Mirrors suit, one of Miles’ exclusive suits in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2.

How To Get Gold Rank In All Mysterium Challenges

While you don’t need anything over Bronze rank to finish the Mysteriums and get the Smoke and Mirrors suit, getting Gold rank gives you more Hero Tokens to spend and shows off your combat skills. Some of the Mysteriums can be tricky, however. You could adjust the difficulty of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 or wait until Miles is better upgraded. If you want a challenge, there are a few tricks you can apply to each Mysterium.

Under Construction” must be completed in under a minute to get Gold. Speed is key, as you’ll need to take out 20 enemies. Utilize multi-enemy attacks and try to web enemies down rather than punch them out. If they are close to a wall or already on the ground, a few shots of Miles’ webs will take them out faster than his fists could. Try to complete the challenge before poison gas fills the room and starts draining your health.

Prison Break” has a similar strategy to “Under Construction” until Mysterio appears and makes your enemies invincible. Take him out fast, and the enemies will return to normal. Make sure to complete the challenge in under 2:15.

Everyone’s A Critic” is the last general brawl Mysterium, with Gold rank rewarded if you beat it in under 1:45. When a green hexagon appears in the second half of the challenge, make sure to dodge out before the shape finishes forming, and a giant fist pummels you.

In “The Invisible Enemy“, your goal is to charge up your finishers in under 2:10. Try not to heal unless you are moments from death. When the enemies turn invisible, watch the shadows on the ground and pay attention to Miles’ Spidey-sense.

Fight On Time” requires the same devotion to finishers, but a giant laser will occasionally follow you around, drawing your attention for a while. Luckily, you only have to beat the challenge in under 3:30.

Road Rage” can be hard if you struggle with dodging enemies, as you cannot be hit in this challenge. Keep an eye on the traffic in the second stage of the fight. When the challenge starts, give it all you’ve got. The sooner you get it done, the less likely you are to be hit. However, there isn’t a time limit to this challenge, so if you need to take your time and focus on dodging, you can.

Grave Decision” is the other no-hit Mysterium in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2. Beat the enemies fast and take advantage of the smaller environment. Mysterio will throw giant skulls at you later on, and you can use the skulls against your remaining enemies. Once again, feel free to take your time if going hard and fast doesn’t work out.

In “Punch Your Ticket“, you need to take down Brutes in under 2:00. Similar to the traffic in “Road Rage”, green train tracks will randomly spawn underneath you moments before a massive train hurtles through the arena. You can use this train to take care of some Brutes. If your webs need time to refresh, take the Brutes down with some debris and other environmental objects.

When it comes to “Fear of Heights“, all you have to do is swing over the green void below the roof and pull enemies up to you. You can just let them fall and swing to the next enemy. It’s a good warm up for the Mysterio boss battle, which is heavy on air attacks. Stay nimble and ready, and the Mysteriums in Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will be easy victories.
