All Bosses In Palworld, Ranked By Difficulty

All Bosses In Palworld, Ranked By Difficulty

In Palworld, multiple factions occupy the Palpagos Islands, and a terrifying boss or faction leader heads up each of them. Throughout one’s adventures through the vivid and sprawling world, defeating each of these bosses will be one goal to achieve. While the first boss in the Rayne Syndicate Tower seems pretty intimidating, it’s only scratching the surface regarding the difficulty one will experience as they enter the mid to late game. That said, defeating all the bosses or faction leaders in Palworld is necessary to unlock the best equipment.

When one beats a boss or faction leader in Palworld, they receive a lot of XP as well as Ancient Technology Points, which can be used to create vital equipment like a Grappling Hook and other useful and high-end gear. That said, defeating any of the bosses in Palworld won’t be easy, and it’s important to utilize Pal’s strengths and weaknesses to overcome each of them. Knowing the ins and outs of each encounter will ensure a higher chance of success — as failure the first time around is a likely possibility.

Palworld wears its many inspirations on both sleeves, but this monster-catching open-world survival sim could have some serious legs.

5 Zoe & Grizzbolt (Rayne Syndicate)

Location: Tower Of The Rayne Syndicate

Zoe & Grizzbolt is the first Faction Leader Boss people must defeat in Palworld to advance past the tutorial. Located in the center of the map, right outside of the starting area, she serves as a formidable opponent early on in the game. As an electric Pal, Grizzbolt is weak against Ground-type Pals and is more effective against Water-type pals. Some early-game Pals effective in the fight are Rushoar, Fuddler, and Gumoss.

Zoe & Grizzbolt have a few abilities, including a leaping attack and ranged electric attacks, with pretty predictable tells on each of them. Using the pillars, most can avoid any serious damage and defeat this boss using a simple Bow or Crossbow. There was an early exploit to grind experience from the fight by using a popular Palworld glitch to immobilize Zoe & Grizzbolt, but that trick has since been patched. Zoe also has an interesting backstory, as detailed in her journal entries.

4 Lily & Lyleen (Free Pal Alliance)

Location: Tower Of The Free Pal Alliance

Lily & Lyleen fight together in the tower boss from Palworld.

Lily & Lyleen are the second boss people encounter in Palworld and are located just northeast of the Rayne Syndicate Tower in the game. With nearly double the HP of Zoe & Grizzbolt, it’s necessary that players are at a high enough level before taking on the Free Pal Alliance faction leader. Lily & Lyleen are weak to Fire-type Pals but effective against Ground-type Pals. At this point, some of the better fire Pals are Blazehowl, Blazamut, and Bushi.

Pals in Palworld will each have their strengths and weaknesses based on their type, which players will need to take advantage of to form their team.

Lily & Lyleen are a step up from Zoe and Grizzbolt, as her attacks do more tracking of the character, with dodging serving as an essential aspect of the fight rather than just avoiding attacks by standing behind pillars. With tracked ranged attacks and a cluster bomb that does AOE damage, one should probably invest in some stronger firepower, like a Musket, before taking on the second boss in the game.

3 Axel & Orserk (Brothers of the Eternal Pyre)

Location: Tower Of The Brothers Of The Eternal Pyre

Axel & Oserk screaming toward the sky from Palworld.

Located on top of the volcanic Mount Obsidian in the western regions of the map, the only dual-type faction leader, Axel & Orserk, are both a Dragon- and Electric-type boss. With a rather steep increase in HP at 130,700 — this Palworld faction leader is no joke. However, due to being a dual-type, it’s weak against both Ground and Ice Pals, leaving some opportunity for a diverse Pal roster. That said, players should avoid using Water and Dark Pals in the battle, as these types are vulnerable and will be quickly destroyed.

Axel & Oserk is just a tiny step up in difficulty from Lily & Lyleen, as its moves do have a large radius but are very slow with a long wind-up. In addition, unlike other bosses in the game, Axel & Orserk are slow-moving ground-type Pals, making them incredibly vulnerable to ranged attacks. Dodging Axel & Oserk’s ranged attacks is fairly easy, as long as one maintains their distance.

2 Marcus & Faleris (PIDF)

Location: Tower of the PIDF

Marcus & Faleris in Palworld.

Located in the polar regions to the east Palpagos Islands, Marcus & Faleris is a flying Fire-type boss in Palworld. Weak against Water Pals, it’s important to use the elemental type advantage for this challenging battle. A few decent water Pals to get for the fight include Azurobe, Jormuntide, and Suzaku Aqua.

Marcus & Faleris are certainly an escalation in difficulty, as the character is not only flying and hard to hit, but their swift attacks don’t have much telegraphing, making dodging some of the quicker attacks a difficult affair. With AOE and tracking moves, staying mobile and utilizing Water-type Pals is important to win the fight. Like the other more challenging bosses in the game, hiding behind pillars won’t save one from his attacks.

1 Victor & Shadowbeak (Pal Genetic Research Unit)

Location: Tower Of The PAL Genetic Research Unit

Victor & Shadowbeak can be found in the northwestern part of the map, in the polar region. A Dark-type boss, Victor & Shadowbeak is the most powerful end-game fight in Palworld, with 200,750 total HP. Weak against Dragon Pals but strong against Neutral, this boss fight will challenge even the most kitted characters in Palworld.

The final boss in the game, Victor & Shadowbeak, is certainly the most challenging boss to defeat in Palworld. At this point in the game, it’s a must to not only use Pals that Victor & Shadowbeak are vulnerable to but that the person has the highest-level weapons in the game. Victor & Shadowbeak have ranged abilities that can penetrate through pillars and the most HP out of any bosses in the game. Combine that with punishing mobility effects, and it’s one that may take a few attempts and a level 40+ character to defeat.
