All Among Us Switch, Mobile, & PC Differences

All Among Us Switch, Mobile, & PC Differences

Now that Among Us has come to Nintendo Switch, a whole new audience is getting to experience the breakout hit social deduction game. Although the game is coming to additional consoles (like Xbox) next year, Among Us is currently only available on mobile, PC, and Switch. Each version of the game comes with a few differences, and players will have to decide which one is right for them.

Before Among Us was officially announced for Switch, it was predicted to come to consoles soon. The Switch version opens the door for the game to appear PlayStation as well as Xbox next year, with Among Us already being announced for Microsoft’s consoles and Xbox Game Pass.

In its current three forms, Among Us has quite a few differences. Most of these are related to price and controls. Since Among Us supports crossplay on all platforms, though, people can play with their friends no matter which version they prefer. So, it really just depends on which control scheme players like the best.

Among Us On Mobile

The biggest difference between the mobile version of Among Us and its PC and Switch counterparts is price. The game costs real money on Steam and Nintendo’s eShop, but it is free to download on Android and iOS devices. There are in-game purchases, however, which are used for buying cosmetics like skins and hats. The controls are also different, as mobile players use their phone’s touchscreens and a virtual joystick to move around on the various maps.

Among Us On PC

The PC version of Among Us is also a bit different than its mobile and Switch iterations. Due to the keyboard, discussions and chat in Emergency Meetings are also easier on PC than on Switch or mobile. Overall, though, the main differences on PC come down to controls and price.

Control options for Among Us on PC include using a mouse and keyboard – or just using a keyboard – to move around and perform tasks in the game. The price for Among Us is $4.99 for PC, and cosmetic pets cost $2.99 like they do on mobile, but because of the PC’s entry point some cosmetics, like specific skins and hats, are unlocked already.

Among Us On Switch

On Nintendo Switch, Among Us costs an even $5. The controls are the most noticeable difference, since the game uses a combination of touchscreen and Joy-Con controls. This can seem a bit unwieldy at first, especially when trying to use the Switch’s virtual keyboard to type in chat. As in the other versions, Local and Freeplay options also exist.

Again, since the game is cross-platform, players can really just choose which version of Among Us is right for them. Ultimately, the choice will most likely come down to which controls people prefer to use – and whether or not they want to spend any real money on the game.
