All 28 Official Images For The Acolyte, Star Wars’ Phantom Menace Prequel

Disney has released 28 images of its upcoming Phantom Menace prequel show, The Acolyte, and they offer a unique insight into the series. The Acolyte serves as a prequel to The Phantom Menace because it’s set during the High Republic era, about 100 years before the first installment in the prequel trilogy of Star Wars movies. That also means that The Acolyte will show a version of the galaxy far, far away that has never been seen in live-action before. Since it’s so foreign and new, these 28 images serve as a great introduction to the upcoming Star Wars show.

The images primarily focus on The Acolyte‘s cast and characters, and they provide a great glimpse into the show’s main figures. They even hint at possible backstories for some major characters, and they could even suggest possible plot points in The Acolyte. One of the moments seen in The Acolyte‘s first trailer showed Mae meeting with an even more mysterious figure on a foreign planet. This figure is unidentifiable and completely shrouded in darkness. However, given Mae’s potential role as a Sith acolyte, this figure could be the Sith Lord who was active during the High Republic era, or their apprentice.

It’s Unclear Why She’s Running, & Why The Forest Is Burning

One of The Acolyte‘s dramatic stills shows Mae running as the forest behind her is engulfed in flames. There’s currently no indication of why Mae is running, whether she’s running towards or from something, or why the forest is on fire. This scene could be taken in multiple different directions, from establishing a tragic backstory for Mae to simply being part of a larger chase scene.

The Planet Mae Is On Could Be Ahch-To From The Sequel Trilogy

Another shot from The Acolyte‘s trailer shows Mae standing on a planet that has large rock formations near a large body of water. While there’s currently no confirmation of what planet this is, there have been hints that it’s been seen before. This planet could be Ahch-To, the homeworld of the first Jedi, as seen in the Star Wars sequel trilogy, which would help explain how the galaxy had forgotten its location.

Jedi have been trained there for milennia, so Sol seems to be continuing one of the Order’s oldest traditions.
