Rick and Morty season 7 managed to continue the show’s overarching story, even killing off Rick Prime and wrapping up his arc, all while also delivering new wacky one-off sci-fi stories. Rick and Morty season 7 is one of the best seasons to come from the show in several years, and here are all 10 of the episodes, ranked.

10 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 8, “Rise Of The Numbericons: The Movie”

All 10 Rick & Morty Season 7 Episodes, Ranked

The worst episode of Rick and Morty season 7 was easily episode 8, “Rise of the Numbericons: The Movie.” The episode follows up on the cliffhanger ending of the season 2 episode “Get Schwifty,” with it following Ice-T and the Alphabetriums as they attempt to take down the Numbericons. The episode makes the odd choice to exclude Rick, instead replacing Rick with Mr. Goldenfold, Morty’s teacher. While it was nice to flesh out Goldenfold, the story idea felt more like a bit rather than a full episode.

9 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 1, “How Poopy Got His Poop Back”

Rick and Morty season 7 kicked off with one of its weaker episodes, episode 1, “How Poopy Got His Poop Back.” The episode centers on Mr. Poopybutthole as he attempts to get out of his addiction, with him asking Rick to stage an intervention. However, Rick, Poopybutthole, and the rest of the gang end up going on a massive bender and getting into all kinds of wacky situations. While the episode is fun, it wasn’t a great idea to start the season on this story, as it is nothing like anything else that the season delivers.

8 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 7, “Wet Kuat Amortican Summer”

Summer and Kuato Morty in Rick and Morty season 7

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 7, ‘Wet Kuat Amortican Summer” is a rare Summer-centric episode, and it mostly works. The episode sees Morty accidentally become a Kuato and get stuck to Summer’s abdomen, leading her on a quest to get him removed. While giving Summer a bigger role works, the entire episode centers around a weird Total Recall reference, and the episode doesn’t really work if you don’t get it. Rick and Morty season 7 had also already done a body-morphing episode in “The Jerrick Trap,” making this feel less original.

7 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 2, “The Jerrick Trap”

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 2, “The Jerrick Trap” is a body swap episode, and while it is fun, it isn’t quite as good as the rest of season 7. The episode sees Rick and Jerry switch bodies before accidentally having their bodies combined. The body swap does lead to some interesting character moments, but it feels like more could have been done with the concept.

6 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 6, “Rickfending Your Mort”

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 6, “Rickfending Your Mort” is the show’s staple anthology episode for season 6, with it mostly consisting of clips of previously unseen adventures. However, the episode does have a little more thought put into it than other anthology episodes, with it centering around a trial involving the murder of a member of an all-seeing alien species known as the Observers.

5 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 3, “Air Force Wong”

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 3, “Air Force Wong” brings back two different classic villains, with it featuring the return of Unity and the President. Both of their arcs are woven together perfectly in the episode, while Rick’s thoughts on Dr. Wong’s relationship with the President also brings about some interesting development. The stakes of this episode are high and the hilarity is higher, with it being a really solid season 7 episode.

4 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 9, “Mort: Ragnarick”

Rick and Morty Valhalla-1

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 9, “Mort: Ragnarick” is another one of the season’s strongest episodes, with it following Rick and Morty as they travel to Valhalla. The episode is an instant classic Rick and Morty adventure, with it starting out with a simple concept before taking it in all kinds of wacky new directions. The new gags and characters are really great, with some of the season’s best moments coming from “Mort: Ragnarick.”

3 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 5, “Unmortricken”

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 5, “Unmortricken” is the season’s big overarching story episode, with it continuing the Rick Prime and Evil Morty storylines. However, unlike some other canon storytelling episodes, “Unmortricken” actually makes some progress, with it wrapping up the Rick Prime arc. “Unmortricken” seems to be the end of Rick and Morty‘s overarching storyline, and as a finale, it is a fantastic conclusion.

2 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 4, “That’s Amorte”

Rick and Morty season 7, episode 4, “That’s Amorte” is easily one of the season’s oddest episodes, with it centering around spaghetti. The episode sees Morty discover that Rick’s famous spaghetti actually comes from the organs of suicidal people from a distant planet, with Rick and Morty deciding to exploit this odd biological quirk. The episode actually has some great social commentary, with its bizarre premise and fantastic humor easily making it one of the best of the season.

1 Rick & Morty Season 7, Episode 10, “Fear No Mort”

As it turns out, Rick and Morty season 7’s best episode is the season finale, “Fear No Mort.” The episode sees Rick and Morty find a hole in a Denny’s that uncovers the worst fear of anyone that jumps into it, with them not being allowed to leave the hole until they escape. Rick and Morty quickly get very philosophical in attempting to discover if they are still in the hole or not, with the episode developing their characters while telling an interesting sci-fi story. Thus, “Fear No Mort” is the best episode of Rick and Morty season 7.
