Alien Romulus Facehugger Scurries Around Set in Skin-Crawling BTS Video

Alien: Romulus director Fede Álvarez has shown off a video featuring a Facehugger crawling around on the set of the movie in an unsettling behind-the-scenes preview. The upcoming film in the sci-fi franchise takes place between the events of the first two movies, featuring a group of astronauts discovering Xenomorphs on a wrecked space station. The movie is set to feature both CGI and practical effects to bring its world, and its monsters, to life.

In honor of Alien Day, Álvarez posted a behind-the-scenes video of the upcoming Alien: Romulus, showing a remote-controlled Facehugger crawling around on set.

The little creature’s legs move as it runs, propelled forward by two wheels in the back of its model. While short, the video confirms how important practical effects will be for the movie, and how they will enhance the horror of what’s to come.

More to come…
