Ahsoka’s Starmap Was Secretly Introduced 5 Years Ago – AND Linked To The Mortis Gods

Ahsoka’s starmap was secretly introduced in the Star Wars canon five years before the new show. An ancient relic revealing the pathway to the extragalactic world of Peridea, the starmap was used as dynamic visuals for Ahsoka’s credits sequence. However, it’s been discovered that Ahsoka was not the first time this map was shown along with the reveal that it’s also connected to the Force gods of Mortis.

As seen in Ahsoka, the starmap recovered on the planet Arcana pointed to Peridea, the true homeworld of the Nightsisters located in a separate galaxy while also being the world where former Imperial leader Grand Admiral Thrawn had been exiled for nearly 10 years ever since the events of the Star Wars Rebels animated series. To that end, it’s been suggested that Star Wars Rebels actually debuted Ahsoka’s starmap amid its references to the Mortis gods and the debut of the Force nexus known as the World Between Worlds.

The Entrance To The World Between Worlds Contained An Ancient Starmap

As has been pointed out online by those such as @sithlorrd on Instagram, the Star Wars Rebels episode “A World Between Worlds” saw Sabine Wren and Ezra Bridger studying a mural of the Mortis Gods located on Lothal which was also an entrance point to the Force nexus of the same name. It was here that Sabine pointed out the paths and planets surrounding the images of the Father, Son, and Daughter:

It can’t be a coincidence that Ahsoka’s starmap is also composed of lines and rings representing routes and worlds just like Sabine’s description of the Lothal mural. Furthermore, this may explain why Sabine was able to decipher the starmap so quickly in Ahsoka’s premiere, having seen a similar if not exact design years prior with Ezra during Rebels. Each of the planets shown in the credits sequence could also be worlds containing doorways to the World Between Worlds, offering access to the vergence and its connections to multiple points throughout time and space in the galaxy far, far away.

The Lothal Starmap Is Linked To The Mortis Gods Too

They Were Being Referenced All Along

It also can’t be coincidental that Peridea itself features massive statues of the Mortis gods which were found by Baylan Skoll in Ahsoka’s finale. Whether the starmaps in Ahsoka and Rebels are the same or not, they both carry connections to the Mortis gods and therefore are likely part of the same myth and legends. To that end, it’s very cool and exciting that the Force deities were subtly referenced from Ahsoka’s very first episode, further suggesting how important they could become in future Star Wars projects especially now that Baylan is seeking power connected to their legacy.
