Agents of SHIELD Season 6 Premiere Will Screen At WonderCon 2019

Agents of SHIELD Season 6 Premiere Will Screen At WonderCon 2019

The Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. season 6 premiere will screen at WonderCon 2019 alongside panels for FX’s Legion and Freeform’s Cloak & Dagger. Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., which is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, features a team of undercover agents who deal mostly with alien threats. The show stars Clark Gregg, along with Ming-Na Wen, Chloe Bennett, Iain De Caestecker, Elizabeth Henstridge, Henry Simmons, Natalia Cordova-Buckley and Jeff Ward

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. initially tied heavily into the MCU movies, particularly during phase 2, it has since disconnected itself from events of the MCU’s film world. Although many involved with the show continued to promise more of a tie-in with the MCU during season 5, particularly after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. barely acknowledged the world-altering events of that film, events that resulted in the decimation of half of the universe’s population. There were only some tenuous references to Thanos, at best. It also seems that season 6 will choose to mostly ignore the movies and focus on the team’s efforts to recover one of their own who is trapped in space. The season 5 finale seemingly killed off Gregg’s character, but the actor has since announced he will return as someone – or something – else.

The season 6 premiere episode of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. will screen at WonderCon 2019, located at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, CA during a panel in the Arena on March 30 at 1:45 p.m. After the panel, the cast, along with the show’s executive producers, will field questions from the audience. This panel offers fans a chance to see the new episode well before its premiere in May. The new episode will pick up one year after the events of the season 5 finale. Marvel also released a new poster for season 6:

With the MCU moving into phase 4, many have already begun to question Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s place within it. Gregg recently admitted that the series will likely end after season 7. Meanwhile, Marvel is turning its attention to some of its other shows, including Cloak & Dagger, which will also get a panel at this year’s WonderCon on March 29 at 4:45 p.m. in room North 200A. Freeform renewed the series for a second season in 2018, and that season’s first episode will air on April 4. That series, too, got a new poster to celebrate its second season, which can be seen above.

Legion will also get a panel at the event on March 29 at 6 p.m. in room North 200A, although FX recently announced that its third season will be the last. Meanwhile, Marvel’s Runaways on Hulu is awaiting word on a renewal for its third season. Although many of Marvel’s television shows have ended up on the chopping block, particularly those shows on Netflix, the company has plenty of plans to continue on TV, especially on Hulu and after the launch of Disney+.
