Aesha Was A Stew First On Below Deck Med

She Was Later Cast In Below Deck Down Under

Aesha’s journey in yachting began before she appeared in Below Deck Med. Born and raised in New Zealand, Aesha’s adventurous spirit led her to pursue a career in the yachting industry. Before appearing on reality TV, Aesha worked as a stewardess on luxury yachts, and her talent didn’t go unnoticed. In 2019, Aesha joined the Below Deck Med season 4 cast as a stew. Her infectious personality, wittiness, and fun attitude quickly made her a franchise favorite.

During her time on the show, Aesha made many friends, including Chief Stew Hannah Ferrier and deckhand João Franco. She was well-liked by most and was known for being hard-working, with a shiny personality perfect for customer service. Therefore, it wasn’t surprising when she was promoted to Chief Stew, this time in Australia alongside Captain Jason.

Aesha Was The Chief Stew On Below Deck Down Under For Two Seasons

She And Jason Chambers Were A Dream Team

While there was ample speculation that Aesha and Captain Jason had a romantic connection, they made terrific colleagues on Below Deck Down Under. Aesha and Captain Jason are strictly platonic despite their evident chemistry on-screen. The pair are more like siblings than romantic interests, with shared humor and camaraderie. The closest they ever got to intimacy was Aesha helping Captain Jason with his contact lenses.

Aesha shined in her role as Chief Stew on Below Deck Down Under, and her main issues revolved around maintaining a long-term relationship. After Below Deck Down Under season 2, Aesha revealed her and her boyfriend Scott “Scotty” Dobson’s search for a permanent home after living in a converted ambulance. In a March Instagram post, Aesha announced that they had finally found a place they adored and bought a house. Why Aesha Chose To Work With Captain Sandy Again

The Switch From Below Deck Down Under To Below Deck Med Is Perplexing

Aesha’s choice to join Captain Sandy on Below Deck Med season 9 is interesting, especially considering she and Scotty just bought a house in Tauranga, New Zealand. Below Deck Med will set sail in Athens, Greece, a far cry from New Zealand and Australia. However, Aesha loves adventure as one of the best Chief Stews, so she might want a change of pace and environment. Additionally, she wants to prove herself as Chief Stew since she wasn’t in charge the last time she worked with Captain Sandy.

However, there might be additional drama Aesha might want to get away from. In Below Deck Down Under season 2, bosun Luke Jones showed interest in Margot Sisson but resorted to shady trickery to kiss her during a crew night out. Despite telling Margot he was interested, Luke shifted his focus to Laura Bileskalne, who was also later fired for sexual misconduct. However, his pursuit of Margot continued, leading to him entering her bunk naked. Aesha intervened to ensure Margot’s safety, prompting Captain Jason to fire Luke. Aesha might be hoping for less drama on Below Deck Med.

Aesha starring as the Chief Stew on Below Deck Med season 9 implies she won’t be returning to Below Deck Down Under. This is heartbreaking since Aesha and Captain Jason make such a great team. It’s hard to imagine anyone else in the role of Chief Stew alongside Captain Jason, but whoever it is will have some big shoes to fill. Below Deck Down Under season 3 is hopefully on the way, and it will be revealed whether Aesha can do double duty on the Australian spin-off and Below Deck Med. For now, she’s taken on her new role in Athens with Captain Sandy.
