Adventure Time’s irrepressible duo Finn and Jake are officially returning, alongside their alternate universe selves (Fionna and Cake) in two brand-new comic compendiums from publisher Oni Press. Screen Rant is thrilled to present the exclusive announcement of these collected volumes, which will bring the award-winning comic series back to print after years of absence. They also mark the beginning of an “array of all-new stories and graphic novels” to follow.
Adventure Time CompendiumVol. 1 and Adventure Time: The Fionna and Cake Compendium will be released in the fall of this year, in advance of new Adventure Time stories coming next year. With both the reprinted volumes and its new releases, Oni Press promises as many “mathematical and radical adventures” as readers can handle – and then some!

Adventure Time Comics Return With Old & New Antics, Courtesy Of Oni Press
“For nearly a decade, the Adventure Time line of comics was a magnet for some of the most intensely talented voices working in the comics medium,” Oni’s Sierra Hahn explained, “drawing in an entirely new generation of readers in the process.” The Adventure Time comic series from Boom! Studios ran from 2012 to 2018, spanning 75 issues alongside twelve spin-off series. Oni’s initial compendium will collect the first thirty-five issues of Adventure Time, while the follow-up will reprint Adventure Time with Fionna & Cake #1–6.
Hahn, who moved from Boom! to Oni Press early last year, stated that Oni’s goal is “to bring forth new collections that will meet the high expectations of both original fans and new readers alike…and start to craft all-new adventures for Finn, Jake, Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, and more.” The company’s “brand-new, lovingly crafted compendium collections” arrive in stores in October and November, 2024, at the perfect time to prime old and new readers alike for what Oni Press has in store for the iconic series.
It Is Adventure Time Once Again Thanks To Oni Press & Warner Bros. Discovery
All the signs suggest that this is an excellent time for an Adventure Time revival. The 2023 release of the animated series Fionna and Cake on HBO Max was met with critical acclaim, having been renewed for a second season. While many other Warner Brothers productions are experiencing cancelations and troubled development, the renewal of the comic series, as well as Fionna and Cake, suggests that Adventure Time is one of the few franchises in which Warner Brothers displays full confidence, boosted by this new partnership with award-winning comic book publisher Oni Press.
Not all comics get a second chance like this after their original publishing run comes to an end. Oni Press appears dedicated to not only picking up where the original Adventure Time series left off, but also ensuring that the first run of comics remains in print with these lovingly curated collections. Between fans of the original series, those who grew up on the comics, and those who know the Land of Ooo from HBO Max specials such as Distant Lands and Fionna and Cake, these compilations from Oni Press promise something for everyone who can’t get enough of Adventure Time.
