Adonis Takes the Spotlight In Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions Launch Trailer

The launch trailer for Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions is now live online, offering yet another look at the Rocky and Creed-centric fighter. This arcade fighting game comes courtesy of Los Angeles-based developer Survios, best known for VR titles such as 2018’s Creed: Rise to Glory and 2020’s The Walking Dead Onslaught, both of which launched across Oculus, PlayStation VR, and Steam VR devices.

Big Rumble Boxing boasts a roster of 20 fighters from the Rocky and Creed films, including the likes of Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Adonis Creed, Clubber Lang, Ivan Drago, and Victor Drago. Survios and MGM announced the project during the summer of 2020, promising an experience loaded with intuitive and easy-to-play controls. While the pick-up-and-play mechanics should allow anyone to jump in regardless of skill level, Survios claims Big Rumble Boxing’s gameplay will prove difficult to master. Players will have the option to test that much for themselves via local competitive multiplayer, training mode, and several mini-games.

Today, September 1, Survios unleashed the launch trailer for Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions (via IGN), which remains on track for its September 3 release date. Similar to previous glimpses at the heavy-hitting gameplay, the latest look showcases the likes of Rocky Balboa, Apollo Creed, Adonis Creed, and Clubber Lang duking it out with their opponents in the boxing ring. Check out the brand-new trailer linked in the video below:

In many ways, Big Rumble Boxing could prove a breath of fresh air, particularly for players longing for a competent boxing game. There’s been a void in the space since Electronic Arts sidelined Fight Night after the launch of 2011’s Fight Night Champion. Will Big Rumble Boxing fill said void? Players will have to decide that much for themselves, but its potential success could reignite interest that’s long laid dormant.

Rocky-branded boxing titles are nothing new to the video game market. Since 1983, several of these experiences have hit store shelves, the first being Rocky Super Action Boxing, which launched for the oft-forgotten ColecoVision home console. The franchise’s continuation with 2015’s Creed gave way to new interactive ventures, and it’s clear MGM is trusting the development crew at Survios to lead the charge in this regard.

Big Rumble Boxing: Creed Champions lands on Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam, PS4, and Xbox One platforms on September 3.
