‘Add Yours’ Sticker Now Available On Reels – Here’s How To Get Started

Instagram users who enjoy making videos on the app can now apply a popular sticker feature on Reels they create on Facebook. Using stickers on videos or stories on either platform is an excellent way of increasing content’s entertainment value. The particular sticker that is gaining traction on Instagram — which can now be seen and used on Facebook — lets users view a caption, see what other users have posted to fit the description, and contribute their own content for others to see.

Instagram’s sticker feature first gained popularity through Instagram Stories. After people record or upload photos and videos to post as a story on the app, they can hit the sticker icon and apply various effects, such as adding links, locations, polls, and even music. Another fairly new addition to the sticker options is the Instagram avatar, which users can personalize and design to look like themselves and then tack on to their stories as additional commentary.

To make popular Instagram tools accessible to those who prefer using its sister platform Facebook, Meta has rolled out various updates to its Reels feature, which includes Instagram’s ‘Add Yours’ sticker. Instagram and Facebook users alike can now apply the viral sticker to the Reels they create on either platform and start a trend with their followers. They can also join someone else’s sticker prompt by sharing their own reel to the pile for others to see. The ‘Add Yours’ sticker can easily be accessed through Instagram Stories bearing the post prompt or through the ‘Stickers’ button (square smiley icon) on Stories’ edit page.

To post an Instagram reel with the ‘Add Yours’ sticker, launch the app, hit the + icon, then choose ‘Reel.’ Record a video clip to use by pressing the white record button, or upload one by swiping up, choosing a clip from the gallery, using the slider to trim the snippet, and hitting ‘Add.’ After making desired modifications to the reel, hit ‘Next’ and tap the ‘Stickers’ button (square smiley icon). Next, select ‘Add Yours’ and type a prompt for other users to follow as a guide to contributing to the reel pile, or hit the dice icon to generate a random one. Tap ‘Done’ to apply the sticker, then hit ‘Next’ to finalize posting the reel. Those who prefer to join already existing ‘Add Yours’ Instagram reel prompts shared by people they follow or discover on the app only need to tap on the sticker when they see it on the post.

Applying the effect on a Facebook reel is just as simple. Launch the Facebook app, tap the ‘Reels’ tab on the top of the feed, and hit ‘Create reel.’ Tap either ‘Camera’ or ‘Green Screen’ to create a video clip from scratch and apply the desired effects before hitting the record button. Alternatively, users can upload a video from the gallery. Tap the ‘Stickers’ button, choose ‘Add Yours,’ and type in the topic for others to follow. Tap ‘Done’ then hit ‘Next’ to finalize posting the Facebook Reel.

The ‘Add Yours’ sticker is on a slow rollout for Facebook Reels, so it may not appear yet as one of the sticker options for reel posts on the platform. However, once the feature becomes more mainstream, Facebook users will also be able to tap on the sticker and contribute to prompts when they see Reels bearing the sticker on their feeds. Other tools in the Facebook Reels pipeline include the ability for content creators to earn money from posts by receiving ‘stars,’ see more detailed post insights and create remix videos using other users’ content.
