AC Valhalla’s First DLC Expansion, Wrath Of The Druids, Arrives In April

The first expansion for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Wrath of the Druids, will launch across all platforms on April 29, Ubisoft has confirmed. This marks the first of two paid expansions, the second of which – The Siege of Paris – remains on track for a summer release.

In Wrath of the Druid, players embark on a journey to Ireland wherein they’ll work towards unearthing the many mysteries behind a cult of ancient Druidic origin. Thus, Eivor’s next adventure centers around Galeic mythology and folklore. Set in war-torn Frankia, The Siege of Paris will let players experience what Ubisoft describes as the “most ambitious battles in Viking history.” Such a confrontation means Eivor and crew are set to infiltrate the fortified city and take part in a prolonged siege aimed at securing the future of the Raven Clan. Other details about the second DLC are scarce, but male Eivor actor Magnus Bruun recently confirmed the team has finished recording for The Siege of Paris

Upon deploying the Ostra Festival content, which lasts from March 18 to April 8, Ubisoft announced that Wrath of the Druids launches on April 29. The “haunted beauty of Ireland” awaits, as do the alliances that Eivor can forge with Gaelic noblemen. As noted above, Eivor will also encounter the mysteries of a druid cult known as the Children of Danu. Players have the option to either purchase the DLC as a standalone release or download it through AC Valhalla’s Season Pass offering. A new content roadmap additionally notes that Mastery Challenge, another free game mode, is slated to release later in the spring. The roadmap is pictured below:

This information answers several questions that have long loomed over Ubisoft’s post-launch content plans for Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. For a while, fans expressed concern about the dearth of content updates and DLC-related details. It now seems as though things are progressing more smoothly in this regard.

The steadier stream of content doesn’t mean Ubisoft is off the hook with fans, however. This week’s addition of the transmog feature, for example, caused quite the stir amongst Assassin’s Creed faithful. Unlike the transmogrification system in AC Odyssey, AC Valhalla’s transmog bears a price tag of 50 in-game silver. As of writing, Ubisoft has yet to address the backlash.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is out now on PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S; Wrath of the Druids launches next month on April 29.
