AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble

AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble

There are a lot of side activities in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, but not all of them are necessary or worth completing for the minor rewards they offer. Many of the world events have fun side stories or are quick and easy to complete, but there are a few that aren’t that interesting, take too long, or get tedious. Most of the world events only award 1,200 XP, and there are other activities, including the main story quests, that have much higher XP rewards.

The only reason to complete world events and other side quests is to earn XP and get skill points to spend. However, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has many unlockable skills, and not all of them will be useful for all playstyles. Aside from wanting to 100% the game, there’s no reason to complete every quest, and some of them are better to avoid. There are quests that have glitches or just aren’t very fun, so anyone not worried about 100% completion can choose to ignore them.

Along with world events, there are some other activities or collectible sets that aren’t worth the effort. For example, finding all of the Roman Artifacts only unlocks a few cosmetics that can be placed around Ravensthorpe, and there are betters shields than the one given as a final reward. Other quests that aren’t worthwhile include long world events or missions that have common glitches, as well as many of the Cairn Stone puzzles.

A New England Is A Boring World Event In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble

In the “A New England” world event, Eivor, after joining Valhalla‘s assassins, needs to follow a delusional man on a tour around an island that he believes to be England. The only way to reach the quest area is to swim to the island or use a boat. After the initial interaction, Eivor decides to chase after the man to ensure his safety. Every time he stops, he points out a landmark that isn’t really there, and then he runs off again.

Chasing after the man starts to get tedious after several stops, and Eivor’s attempt to help him ultimately fails regardless of which dialogue option is chosen at the end of the mission. The only reward for completing this world event is 1,200 XP, which is not much of a loss considering how many other activities are in the game. Although “A New England” is available early while exploring Rygjafylke, it can be avoided without losing any substantial opportunities for progressing Eivor’s level in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Skal To Your Wealth Isn’t Worth Completing

AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble Skal to Your Wealth

There are a few steps to completing the “Skal to Your Wealth” world event, including finding a den and killing a bear to gather ingredients. The objective is to find the missing ingredients for an alchemist that promises his drink will lead to wealth. Once the two ingredients are collected and delivered, Eivor will be given the drink, which makes them pass out and wake up in a cave in Grantebridgescire. There is a piece of armor in the cave, but it can easily be obtained without completing the world event. The Huntsman Vambraces are also only useful early on, but Eivor will quickly get better gear to replace them. Additionally, after getting out of the cave, Eivor must return to the alchemist to collect the XP reward for this quest.

The northern part of Ledecestrscire contains the “Skal to Your Wealth” world event in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, and there’s no fast travel point nearby. The quest requires Eivor to travel back to the alchemist from the cave in Grantebridgescire, and it’s definitely an inconvenience to make the journey for just 1,200 XP. The closest fast travel point is a little over 500 meters away, so it doesn’t take too much time to get back. However, this world event is still one that isn’t worth completing when considering the time and effort versus the XP reward.

Path To The Wind-Blue Has A Minor Reward In Assassin’s Creed Valhalla

AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble Path to the Wind-Blue

Eivor escorts a Norse Soldier around a swampy area in the “Path to the Wind-Blue” world event. After following him around and lighting several beacons, the Norse Soldier will ask to be taken across the water. Eivor then needs to clear the area of enemies around the fire before entering the larger compound and clearing that as well. Once all the enemies are defeated, Eivor, only around 24 in Valhalla, can speak to the Norse Soldier again to receive 1,200 XP.

The foggy swamp area where the world event is located makes it easy to lose track of the Norse Soldier. However, the biggest reason that the “Path to the Wind-Blue” world event isn’t worth the effort is that the Norse Soldier can easily get stuck on pieces of the environment or have trouble climbing into the boat. The last few enemies can also be hard to locate even when using Odin’s Sight. The “Path to the Wind-Blue” world event is just another quest that isn’t necessary for only 1,200 XP.

Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s The Demon Odor At The Tithe Has A Glitch

AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble Demon Odor at the Tithe

A common glitch in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is the missing NPC for “The Demon Odor at the Tithe” world event. For this weird Assassin’s Creed Valhalla side quest, Eivor needs to move jars without breaking them, then push blockades out of the way. The pattern repeats a few times until Eivor clears a path and lets the trapped man out. Waiting for Eivor to pick up and place the jars over and over gets annoying, but there’s also a chance the man won’t be in the building at all.

For those that experience the glitch for “The Demon Odor at the Tithe” world event, fixing it involves exiting and reentering the Animus just to complete a monotonous quest that, once again, only rewards 1,200 XP. Even if the glitch doesn’t occur, moving jars and wooden blockades for a bit of experience isn’t necessary for getting a lot of skill points in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla with so many other options available. With the added risk of triggering a vomit animation if a jar is broken, this world event just isn’t worth the trouble.

The Cairn Stone Puzzles Are Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Worst Activity

AC Valhalla Quests That Aren’t Worth The Trouble Cairn Stone Puzzle

The Cairn Stones are some of the most frustrating activities in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla. The early challenges don’t require the stones to be stacked too high, and the shapes are easier to work with. However, after reaching higher level areas in England, the Cairn Stone puzzles become more difficult. The late game Cairn Stones can lead to a lot of tumbling rocks and puzzle resets that really aren’t worth the one skill point Eivor will earn as a prize for getting Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s stones to stand up again.

The Cairn Stone puzzles also have controls that are annoying to deal with, and the rocks can fall over even after a moment of stability. Since completion takes a moment to trigger, it’s possible to stack the stones to the proper height and still lose the challenge if they slowly fall over. While a guaranteed skill point is a decent reward, completing a difficult and time-consuming Cairn Stone puzzle isn’t the best way to unlock new abilities for Eivor. The Cairn Stone puzzles, along with a few long and tedious world events, should be avoided for those that aren’t concerned with achieving 100% in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla.
