“Absolute F*ing Banger”: Ready Or Not 2 Tease Is Way More Thrilling After New Horror Movie With 82% On Rotten Tomatoes

Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, collectively known as Radio Silence, have given an exciting tease about the script for Ready or Not 2, which arrives at the perfect time amid the critical success of their new horror movie. After huge successes with horror franchises like the Scream reboot movies, Radio Silence is developing a sequel to their hit 2019 horror movie Ready or Not. The film received substantial critical acclaim and was an impressive box office success, holding a “Certified Fresh” 89% Rotten Tomatoes score while earning $57.6 million worldwide against a $6 million budget (via Box Office Mojo) – which is now looking to be followed up with a sequel.

Five years after Ready or Not’s gory ending, it seems Samara Weaving’s Grace may be returning to the big screen. Though Ready or Not 2 hasn’t been officially confirmed and greenlit, directors Bettinelli-Olpin and Gillett have revealed that a script has been written, which they describe as “an absolute f–king banger of a sequel.” The directors also noted that they’re “so excited that it’s happening” in regard to getting the sequel made, elaborating that Ready or Not is the “love of [their] creative lives.” With so much optimism for Ready or Not 2 from Radio Silence, their newest horror movie’s success makes the potential sequel all the more exciting.

Radio Silence’s Abigail Success Is Great News For Ready Or Not 2

Abigail is a critical success ahead of its 2024 release

In their first directed feature since 2023’s critical and box office hit Scream VI, Radio Silence’s Abigail has already received impressive reviews ahead of its release on April 19. Abigail‘s gore and horror were teased by the directors as “Ready or Not on steroids,” so considering how many reviews have praised its gore, black comedy and violence blend, and similarities to Ready or Not, the 2024 film has certainly lived up to the hype of that comparison. Consequently, Radio Silence’s tease about an incredible script for Ready or Not 2 should be taken with more reliability and faith after Abigail’s critical success. With Scream (2022), Scream VI, and Abigail providing back-to-back hits for Radio Silence in the years since Ready or Not’s release, a sequel is essentially guaranteed to be a fun, gory and a worthy continuation of Grace’s story.

Radio Silence’s hit movies are known for their clever screenplays

Samara Weaving as Grace with a bloody face sitting outside the burning house in Ready or Not

Radio Silence has given particular praise to the script that’s been prepared for Ready or Not 2, which is highly optimistic after their recent movies. Their Scream reboot films, Abigail, and, of course, Ready or Not itself were each celebrated by critics and audiences for their witty, smart screenplays, which cleverly balance horror-comedy, character building, and gory kill scenes. As such, the same can be expected from Ready or Not 2 based on the directors’ early teases, thus continuing their amazing hold on the modern horror-comedy genre landscape.
