2021’s A Quiet Place Part 2 finally hit theaters after long anticipation, and fans are far from disappointed in the thrilling adventures of the Abbott family in the quiet place. This horror flick definitely leans towards being a straight-up thriller, but there’s nothing more terrifying than alien creatures.
For those that can’t enough of this flick, there are so many more apocalyptic movies, family dramas, and sci-fi wonders, all bursting with thrills that are bound to have viewers on the edge of their seats and diving deep into the horrors of an alternate universe.
Signs (2002)
The oldest flick on the list, Signs is an alien classic. However, it’s a great binge for fans of A Quiet Place because it centers around a family living on a remote farm, trying to survive an alien invasion. Directed by M. Night Shyamalan, fans know this flick is full of twists and scares.

Super 8 (2011)
There’s likely a theory out there that Super 8 could be what the beginning of the apocalypse in A Quiet Place might have been. In 1979, a young group of friends witnesses a train crash – and a series of unexplainable events follow. This small town mystery is thrilling and intriguing.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, this tale is a more interesting and mysterious flick about aliens, but it’s also full of thrills. For those that love the wonder and the unexplained, this is the movie to get watching next.

The 5th Wave (2016)
There have been four waves of alien attacks, and the fifth one is coming. Teenage Cassie (Chloë Grace Moretz) is desperate to save her younger brother, from both a corrupt government and the deadly creatures about to attack.
The 5th Wave is a teen dystopian novel, transformed to the big screen in romance, thrills, and sci-fi mystery. For a wholesome family duo and some love amidst invading aliens, fans should dive into this teen drama.
Don’t Breathe (2016)
For those that are more interested in a horror movie with jumps around every corner, Don’t Breathe is a good choice. Two thieves enter a house of a blind man but find themselves being the victims of a dangerous and horrifying situation.
They have to be silent – just like in the quiet place – in order to not get caught. This crime thriller will definitely have viewers on the edge of their seats and stewing in the mystery of who the bad guys truly are.
Annihilation (2018)
Alex Garland’s Annihilation is more of an adventure thriller and will have those obsessed with sci-fi horrors totally infatuated. A biologist takes a crew with her on an expedition into a mysterious zone, where suddenly the laws of nature are in chaos.
With a thrilling Natalie Portman, Tessa Thompson, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and more, there is mystery, violence, suspense, and scientific wonder. For those that love the sci-fi side and more thrills than horror, this is a great pick.
Bird Box (2018)
This apocalyptic flick has hidden monsters that seek to destroy humans by driving them to suicide – but only have the power to do so if they are looked at directly. Sandra Bullock plays the lead, a woman who tries to takes two children to safety.
Bird Box has similar themes, as they are safe unless they come face-to-face with the creatures. There are thrills, riveting drama, and a family trying to stay alive through horrifying adversity. It’s a perfect next watch.
The Silence (2019)
Netflix’s The Silence is actually eerily similar to the plot of Krasinski’s work. Hidden creatures have evolved into dangerous killers, and the movie follows 16-year-old Ally, who has lost her hearing. She tries to lead her family to a haven where they can find refuge.
This movie, though, focuses on Ally’s other heightened senses, and the family moves to the countryside where they can live a quiet life away from the creatures. With the legendary Stanley Tucci and Kiernan Shipka, it’s a similar watch.
Alone (2020)
This movie doesn’t include aliens. However, it does follow a widowed woman who is kidnapped. She escapes, but only to be lost in the wilderness where she must survive the elements and still escape the killer that pursues her.
For fans that can’t get enough of Emily Blunt’s character, Evelyn, and her strength and determination, Alone will fuel fans with suspense as they watch Jessica travel through the wilderness – which also ties into the riveting survival of A Quiet Place. In this new movie, the monsters are human.
