A Quiet Place 2: 10 Stories That Could Be Explored

A Quiet Place 2: 10 Stories That Could Be Explored

With how A Quiet Place ended, there are just so many possibilities for exploration within the sequel, A Quiet Place 2. Considering what happened to the Abboyy family at the center of the story and how much about the monsters and world were left unexplained, there’s a lot that could possibly go down.

At the end of A Quiet Place, Evelyn Abbott gives birth to a new baby right before her husband was killed in a sacrificial act. Now, the Abbotts consist of Evelyn and her three children, Regan (who is deaf), Marcus, and the baby (who still doesn’t have a name). It will be interesting to see how they survive in the world, with so many obstacles at foot.

The Beginning

A Quiet Place 2: 10 Stories That Could Be Explored

In A Quiet Place, viewers are shown glimpses of when the events first started. The wild uproar created by the monsters attacking everyone in the streets, and the Abbotts’ quick escape away from their suburban home.

But fans still don’t really know how it all came to be. In this film, it would be very interesting to see flashbacks or stories from others about their experiences of the initial attack, and maybe even how it all began.

Where The Creatures Came From

A Quiet Place Monster

If the film goes this route, it definitely should show where the creatures came from, why they are on Earth. Their presence leaves for so many questions. Are they aliens or some kind of creature from another reality? They look similar to the Eldritch horror that Stranger Things adopted, but it would still be fascinating to know specifically where they came from.

Writer, actor, producer, and director of the film, John Krasinski announced that the monsters are aliens that come from another planet, but it would definitely be worth mentioning in the sequel.

Creature Lore

A Quiet Place Monster

More lore about these aliens would also be interesting. Making the movie more about the creatures than the humans seems like a unique route for a sequel that may dive deeper into the current world’s lore.

Since the monsters are aliens, why did they come to Earth? Why is their hearing on point but their sight is blinded? Could it have to do with the world they came from? There are just so many questions about their biology and their presence that still needs answers.

The First Few Months

A Quiet Place Shush

Viewers already got to see some of the initial attacks, but exploring those first few months of the apocalypse would definitely be an interesting take for the movie to explore in flashbacks with Lee and Evelyn protecting the family again.

The first few months always seemed to be glossed over in apocalypse movies, but also seem pretty vital to the development of the characters, to see what they had to go through in order to survive.

Flashbacks With Lee

More flashbacks with Lee, in general, would be a very interesting idea for A Quiet Place 2. Many fans of the movie also happen to be fans of John Krasinski, and though he still will be behind the scenes of the movie, his on-screen presence has been deemed to be one of the best aspects of the original.

Though he is no longer around in the present timeline, seeing him in flashbacks that may aid the characters in their fight for survival would definitely be something many fans would like to see.

Regan Character Development

A Quiet Place

Regan is the eldest child to Lee and Evelyn and was born deaf, making it a bit harder for her to adapt to this low-sound based world. She cannot hear when the monsters are coming, or when her steps are a bit too loud and must rely on those around her to inform her. In A Quiet Place, Regan was a bit problematic.

She was definitely going through her angsty teen years and often made things harder for Lee and Evelyn. But at the end of the film, Lee tells her that he loves her and that he always has, just before he dies. His death and final message must mean something for Regan’s character development, and hopefully, she becomes a beacon of hope for the rest of the family like her father once was.

The Baby

A Quiet Place Bathtube

Having a baby in the apocalypse is pretty rough. Especially when sound-based monsters lurk around every corner, and hushing a crying baby could be like talking to a wall. Luckily for the Abbotts, the baby hasn’t been seen crying too much in his first few moments of life, but who is to say that doesn’t change in the sequel?

Babies tend to cry and scream uncontrollably for any number of reasons, so the baby might be the reason for a lot of running in the sequel.

“Safe Zone”

A Quiet Place The Abbotts

In these apocalyptic style movies (usually most common with zombies), there always seems to be some kind of “safe zone” that the characters hear of and try to reach. In the Resident Evil movie series, it was Arcadia. In I Am Legend, there is a survivors camp in Vermont.

A Quiet Place 2 seems like the exact kind of film that would explore the family trying to find a “safe zone” where they may finally be at peace to settle down.

Aggressive Humans

On that same trend, aggressive humans and the basic need for human survival should definitely come into play. Based on the trailer, fans know that Evelyn and the kids are wary of other humans, but it is unclear why. In apocalypse settings such as The Walking Dead, sometimes humans are just as dangerous as the new monsters that inhabit the land.

Seeing the state of society would be a super interesting insight into the state of the world as well and may give fans background knowledge into why the Abbotts hid on that remote farm, other than just avoiding the monsters.

How Others Have Survived

It has been shown in the trailer that there will be a few new faces on the casting list for this film, which means more survivors. A Quiet Place 2 should explore why and how these other humans have survived for as long as the Abbotts, and what experiences they had to go through to get to where they are.

It seems unlikely that everyone just hid out on an abandoned farm, so seeing others who may have survived in a city setting the entire time would definitely be something worth exploring.
