The story of how 90 Day: The Last Resort couple Kalani Faagata and Asuelu Pulaa met might have something to do with why she cheated on him with her “hall pass” boyfriend Dallas Nuez. Kalani and her 27-year-old husband Asuelu were first seen in 90 Day Fiancé season 6. She was a single mom to their son Oliver when Asuelu came to the U.S. They had a second son named Kennedy shortly after they wed in September 2018. Kalani and Asuelu’s relationship problems had a lot to do with Asuelu being immature. He couldn’t provide for his family, disrespected his wife, and didn’t act responsibly as a father.
After five years of marriage, Kalani and Asuelu have finally split. While they remain married as there has been no official confirmation of a divorce, Kalani is now dating a man named Dallas. They met on social media after Asuelu gave Kalani a “hall pass” to go and kiss someone else. It was because Asuelu himself had been cheating on Kalani while he was away in Samoa to meet his dad. Kalani found out when she noticed Asuelu had thrush on his tongue from kissing another woman. They came to receive couples’ therapy on 90 Day: The Last Resort and will most likely go their separate ways in the finale.
Kalani & Asuelu Decided To Marry After A Vacation Fling
Kalani admitted she had a thing for older white guys, preferably gingers and Jewish men. But Asuelu was the complete opposite of that. Asuelu grew up in a small fishing village and had never left Samoa. Kalani met him while she was staying at a resort where Asuelu was working as the activities director. Asuelu “semi-stalked” Kalani and one day, when she saw him shirtless, Kalani thought “This could work.” After her second visit to Samoa, Kalani “did the deed” with Asuelu, and it resulted in her pregnancy. She might have not married Asuelu had she not become pregnant because Asuelu wasn’t her type, and they came from “completely different worlds.”
Asuelu Was The Only Man Kalani Had Been With Romantically
Kalani was a virgin prior to meeting Asuelu. “In Mormon faith, you’re taught that you don’t have sex before you’re married,” she explained. But things changed when she met Asuelu. She felt like she found someone she loved and “wanted to experience sex with.” Kalani was one month away from turning 29. She had never shared her body with anyone, which is why Asuelu cheating on her was so devastating for Kalani. He tried to hide the fact that he had kissed someone and received oral sex behind Kalani’s back.
Asuelu’s Hall Pass Made Kalani Realize What She Had Missed
Asuelu gave Kalani the “hall pass,” which was him giving her permission to go kiss somebody else. He trusted Kalani to not do it, but Kalani admitted, “You gave me a hall pass, I took it.” Kalani had enough of Asuelu betraying her, so when she could do it to him, she did. Kalani got the opportunity to test the waters, considering Asuelu wasn’t even sexually satisfying her. When she saw how well Dallas treated her both physically and emotionally when it came to choosing between him and Asuelu, the 90 Day: The Last Resort star chose her new boyfriend.
