90 Day Fiancé: Yara Rejects Gwen’s Pushy Tips For Mothering Baby Mylah

Popular 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? star Jovi Dufren’s wife Yara Zaya and mother Gwen Eymard are clashing over their parenting skills while raising newborn baby Mylah Angelina. Both Jovi and Yara, who were rejected as just another regular couple on 90 Day Fiancé season 8, rose up the ranks to become fan-favorites by the finale, so much so that TLC viewers have been eagerly awaiting to see Jovi and Yara’s debut with their daughter on HEA season 6. However, the pair best known for their constant bickering on the show now has a new opponent to deal with in Gwen. Episode 3 shows Yara being unhappy about Gwen constantly interfering during baby duties, to the point where she called Jovi’s mom “pushy.”

Jovi’s mother Gwen had a rocky start on 90 Day Fiancé, with a scene that showed her wanting to control Yara’s wedding ceremony and later her offensive views on Ukraine. But while Yara stood up to Gwen, proving she wasn’t a Green Card-hungry stereotype, fans warmed up to Gwen, slowly making her one of the best mothers-in-law in the franchise. The New Orleans mother became a clear fan-favorite by willingly handing away her son to Yara after the wedding. And the ire that Gwen drew melted away further when she looked after a pregnant Yara, with Jovi immediately leaving for his ship job.

But chances are that Gwen may end up becoming unlikable again on 90 Day Fiancé, thanks to Yara’s opinion on her parenting ways. “I want her help, but I don’t want her to tell me what to do,” Yara tells Jovi in the next episode of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?, according to Us Weekly. Yara admits that Gwen doesn’t trust her as a mom yet and is always “too pushy,” telling her what to do while looking after Mylah. Although Yara confesses that her relationship with Jovi’s mother is good, the Ukrainian businesswoman thinks it’s “different cultures or different mentalities” coming into play. “She’s never been away outside of the U.S.. She’s never been to Europe,” declares Yara, as she wonders if the “different ways to raise [a] baby” scare Gwen.

I appreciate Gwen’s opinions, but I will do whatever I want as a parent,” adds Yara. Then her 90 Day Fiancé husband, Jovi, stuns fans with the truth: he will soon be gone for two months. While voicing that Yara’s first reaction to Gwen and even him is, “F*** off, don’t tell me how to raise my kid,” she will soon be in for a “rude awakening” with him gone and her really needing help.

It figures that while Jovi and Yara’s storyline on 90 Day Fiancé season 8 had its share of issues, with her aversion to NOLA and him refusing to give up his bachelor life, Happily Ever After will pose new problems. It was Jovi leaving Yara for work when she suffered her miscarriage that gave her major trust issues about him. And now with him gone for two whole months, will Yara coping with Jovi’s absenteeism drive them apart? While that may be a question for 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? to answer, as Mylah’s new Instagram account suggests, 90 Day Fiancé‘s Yara did warm up to her mother-in-law Gwen’s pushiness eventually.

90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? airs Sundays at 8pm on TLC.
