90 Day Fiancé: Why Fans Still Think Amira Is A Villain Like Andrew

90 Day Fiancé: Why Fans Still Think Amira Is A Villain Like Andrew

While 90 Day Fiancé fans agree Andrew Kenton is certainly a season eight villain, there are still some TLC viewers who think Amira is equally as villainous as her former fiancée. It was easy to see that Andrew and Amira’s journey started on the wrong foot. As the pandemic threw a wrench into their travel plans, Andrew’s Mexico loophole proved to be an even bigger nightmare. But following Amira’s detention and deportation, and then her quarantine amidst the riots in Serbia, Andrew got called out for his manipulative behavior. Their breakup over Andrew’s disturbing texts, and later his threats to David Toborowsky, cemented Andrew’s fate as the most disliked cast member on 90 Day Fiancé, but that doesn’t mean Amira is off the hook completely.

While he may blame it on a bad edit and “frankenbiting,” the criticism Andrew has been receiving surpasses most other 90 Day Fiancé cast members. Alongside blaming TLC for his portrayal, Andrew also tried to prove Amira was the mastermind behind the Mexico plan and that she’s a “fame-hungry liar.” But with a day left for Amira to board her flight to America after going through two traumatic experiences in two countries to see him, Andrew picked a fight about having future children. A distressed Amira still found the courage to fly to the US, but a panic attack saved her from the “angry fiancée” Andrew warned she would meet at the airport. The French-Egyptian woman won praise from the internet for picking self-love over Andrew’s toxic relationship, but some TLC viewers say she’s not deserving.

When introduced on 90 Day Fiancé, Amira spoke about how her French-Egyptian heritage made her feel like she didn’t 100% fit in her town, Saumur. Amira then revealed that she looked for a way to leave and landed on the international dating website where she crossed paths with Andrew. Fans believe Amira saw Andrew being from California as a way to break the monotony of her possibly unexciting life in France, and also a chance to explore the make-up shops in America, as she said on 90 Day Fiancé. The fact that she could escape from her past could have made Amira overlook Andrew’s problematic ways, at least temporarily.

Fans also pointed out how Amira is now reportedly dating a man called Camel Ventura, also from California, further stressing her American dream. It was earlier also reported that Amira was writing to a felon in the States in 2017, before meeting Andrew, and also referred to him as her “bf” in an online forum. Back then, certain TLC viewers suspected Amira may have wanted to appear on Love After Lockup before 90 Day Fiancé. These “receipts” made bits of the internet wonder if Amira was always after a life of fame, and if she wanted to grow her Instagram as an influencer using the publicity that came from reality TV shows.

The conversation about 90 Day Fiancé being called out for being scripted to have more dramatic storylines has also been raised, with fans asking if Amira was really this feeble to not realize that Andrew was manipulating her to do as he pleased. Amira is rumored to appear on the season eight Tell-All with Camel, who apparently teased that their story will be told soon via his own IG. But even if it is revealed that Amira wanted an exciting life in the States, the way Andrew behaved with her is not right by any accord. If he knew Amira’s wishes and thought he could take control of them, this 90 Day Fiancé relationship is all the more problematic.

90 Day Fiancé airs Sundays at 8 pm ET on TLC.
