90 Day Fiancé: Why Fans Are Loving After The 90 Days

The 90 Day Fiancé spin-off show David & Annie: After the 90 Days is quite new, but it’s starting to get a positive reception from viewers. 90 Day Fiancé fans had mixed emotions about After the 90 Days at first, which chronicles the married life of  David Toborowsky and Annie Suwan. The new spin-off also has a segment dedicated to the marriage and home life of another fan-favorite couple, Alexei and Loren Brovarnik. Viewers were initially skeptical, as they thought the new series would turn out to be another version of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After?. Fans were also concerned that it would lead to repetitive storylines that would quickly become boring. So far, however, they’re enjoying what they see onscreen.

David & Annie: After the 90 Days follows David and Annie as they go to Annie’s home country of Thailand to bring her teenage relatives back to live with them in Arizona. Annie wants to give her 14-year-old brother Jordan and her 16-year-old cousin Amber a better life. Early on in the series, Annie explained that she and David haven’t had kids because David is 53. Not only would he have to reverse his vasectomy, but Annie suspects that David doesn’t want to “change diapers” when he is in his 50s. Instead, the couple has decided to bring Annie’s teenage relatives to the U.S. and treat them as their own. So far, the series has been similar to a vlog, displaying the couple’s experiences in Thailand, and the process of bringing the teenagers to Arizona.

Many viewers think that David & Annie: After the 90 Days is a deviation from the normal content on 90 Day Fiancé spin-offs, and they’re loving the change. In a recent Reddit thread, Redditor sawta2112 said that the new show is very different from “the usual TLC dumpster fire,” adding that they are “here for it.” The user also shared that although they thought differently of 90DF star David when he first appeared on the franchise, he now seems more respectful of Annie’s culture and her family. They mentioned that they can tell David has grown a lot since his 90 Day Fiancé debut and that it’s apparent to the viewers how much David and Annie care about Annie’s cousin and brother.

Is TLC actually getting it right??? from 90DayFiance

In the comments, other fans agreed that this new show really displays David’s growth. Fans also mentioned being moved by the new spin-off. Many fans said that they cried when the teenagers said goodbye to their friends, and again while Annie was discussing her experiences growing up in Thailand. Viewers commended Annie for deciding to bring her relatives to the U.S. so that they wouldn’t have to go through what she went through. Commenters largely agreed that David and Annie’s new show is “wholesome.” Some also mentioned that it is renewing their faith in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise after countless spin-offs that focus on “dumpster fire” drama and situations.

Fans who have watched 90 Day Fiancé from the beginning have been saying for years that they miss the old seasons. They wish TLC would go back to centering the storyline around the love the couple has for each other, instead of mostly showing the drama. Many viewers are reminded of the old 90 Day Fiancé when they watch David & Annie: After the 90 Days. It is true that volatile fights and screaming matches draw new viewers in because they want the tea. However, it also discourages some viewers who have watched the 90 Day Fiancé franchise from the beginning, and would rather learn about the K-1 visa process and the couples’ different stories. David & Annie: After the 90 Days is a return to the origins of 90 Day Fiancé, and viewers are loving it for that.
