The 90 Day Fiancé franchise has aired ups and downs for many couples, but some cast members have dealt with low points in 2022. The past year has seen divorces, custody battles, and even prison sentences for featured cast members. Not all 90DF personalities had the most positive experiences in 2022.
While the 90 Day Fiancé franchise focuses on marriages, it has also featured a number of divorces on the many spin-off shows. Several couples split in 2022, and the featured breakups were ugly. In fact, some divorces left viewers shocked, due to how low certain exes stooped. Meanwhile, other cast members were rocked by life-changing events. Some foreigners traveled to the United States, only to have their relationships fall apart. They found themselves facing uncertain futures in foreign lands. Other cast members dealt with medical issues or legal problems. Fans have caught up with drama and hardships on extended franchise content and social media. While viewers have sympathy for some cast members, 90 Day Fiancé fans think that others deserve all of their hardships in 2022.
Geoffrey Paschel
Geoffrey Paschel is one 90 Day Fiancé extended franchise cast member who certainly didn’t have the 2022 that he wanted, although many viewers would agree that the former 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days cast member deserved everything that happened to him. Back in February, Geoffrey was sentenced to eighteen years in prison, without the possibility of parole. Geoffrey, his partner Varya Malina, and his family have continued to deny his guilt, even though he was convicted of horrifically assaulting his former partner. Geoffrey maintains his innocence, and believes that he should be freed. However, his kidnapping and assault convictions stand, which means that he spent 2022 in prison, and will spend many more years behind bars. Plenty of 90 Day Fiancé fans celebrated the violent criminal’s sentence. He needs to spend roughly two decades in prison.
Deavan Clegg
While former 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way star Deavan Clegg is not well-liked among fans, most of them agree that she does not deserve the problems that she’s been dealing with this year. She is known for causing Internet drama and starting problems, as she loves being the center of attention. However, she was struck by real tragedy when the son that she shares with Jihoon Lee was diagnosed with b-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Three-year-old Taeyang is currently undergoing chemotherapy, which was particularly stressful for Deavan during her third pregnancy. However, Jihoon is also suffering, as the South Korean man is very far away from his son. At the same time, Deavan has repeatedly accused him of not caring about their child.
Moknii Hamza
Moknii Hamza is one Before the 90 Days cast member who appears to having a hard time, as Hamza left 90 Day Fiancé fans worried multiple times in 2022. Hamza and Memphis Sandoval aired their wedding in 2022, although they split up shortly after their nuptials, even though Tunisian man Hamza moved to the United States to be with Memphis and their daughter. Hamza revealed that he was living in Chicago, while Memphis was living in Michigan, with full custody of their baby girl. Hamza appeared lonely and heartbroken in many images, and believed that Memphis was keeping his child away from him. Hamza was recently able to meet his daughter for the first time, after spending many seemingly lonely months waiting for the big day in 2022.
Mohamed Abdelhamed
Mohamed Abdelhamed is another foreign and problematic 90 Day Fiancé cast member who hasn’t been having an easy 2022. However, many 90 Day Fiancé viewers cannot stand the season 9 newcomer, and were even rooting for him to be deported back to Egypt. Mohamed received a terrible fan reception when he was introduced alongside older American woman, Yvette Arellano. Yve caught Mohamed talking to another woman and initiated their divorce, which led to an escalation of messy issues between the duo. Mohamed made it clear to many fans that he was using Yve for a Green Card, which led viewers to wonder if he would be deported. While Mohamed is currently still living in the US, his future in the country is uncertain.
Chantel Jimeno
Chantel Jimeno is having a difficult 2022, as The Family Chantel star had her issues aired on TV. The Family Chantel beauty Chantel endured immense heartbreak during season 4, as her husband Pedro Jimeno left her after five years of marriage. Viewers watched in shock as Pedro turned on Chantel, and started calling her names. He also spent all of his free time with his coworkers, and stopped communicating. She accused him of cheating, and likely had to relive her heartbreak as it played out onscreen. Fortunately, Chantel has earned a lot of fan support and appears to be healing, with help from her family and friends. However, her priority has always been having a husband and starting a family, which made the divorce difficult for the 31-year-old nurse.
Paul & Karine Staehle
Former couple Paul and Karine Staehle split for the last (and seemingly final) time at the end of 2021, although the infamous 90 Day Fiancé franchise couple appears to be dealing with many issues in 2022. Paul and Karine lost custody of their two children, as they have a very long history of allegations against each other, as well as a video of Karine hitting Paul in front of one of their sons. Karine is in the United States, hoping to regain custody of Pierre and Ethan, and many viewers are now concerned that she is dating known clout chaser, Josh Seiter. Meanwhile, Paul has left viewers worried for years, though he recently appears to have gone even further off the deep end. Paul filmed a sex video with a male member of Karine’s family, and now appears to be dating a 17-year-old girl. Many 90 Day Fiancé fans are disturbed by Paul’s actions, and wonder what the future holds for Paul, Karine, and their estranged kids.
