90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way – Jihoon Tells Deavan Why He Doesn’t Have A Full-Time Job

Things haven’t been looking any better for Jihoon and Deavan from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. The latest episode saw Deavan Clegg fly to South Korea with her two children and her mother. She hopes to settle down with Jihoon Lee for good. However, Jihoon’s frequent lies are getting in the way.

A year after meeting Jihoon Lee during his visit to the USA, Deavan made a permanent move to Korea. She was ready to start a happy family life. Unfortunately, upon her arrival in Jihoon’s hometown, she encountered a situation that was a far cry from the happiness that she expected. The apartment that Deavan had rented via the Web turned out to be small. It was situated in a seedy locale – one that she described as the “ghetto” of Korea. As someone who her mom Elicia wanted to “step up and be a man,” Jihoon failed at the basic task of doing a background check before the family moved in. Even Jihoon’s parents disapproved of the place. While Deavan was initially hesitant about moving to South Korea, Jihoon had assured her that he now had a job that could help him support both them and the children, Taeyang and Drascilla. However, that wasn’t true.

The preview for the upcoming episode saw Deavan telling Jihoon that she didn’t want to be together, but an exclusive clip of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way shared by E Online showed him revealing another shocking moment. In a sneak peek from the Monday, July 13 episode of 90 Day Fiancé, the couple continues to discuss their financial troubles and possible future in South Korea. “Jihoon admitting that he is not financially ready for us to move to Korea is devastating because he told me everything was fine,” Deavan says to the camera. “But he lied to trick me into coming and that’s not OK.” Jihoon, meanwhile admits that he was “selfish” and apologizes for lying about his job and finances. Speaking into the translator gadget again, he adds that he has been nervous since he first met Deavan. He agrees that he’s been stressed over the fact that he’s currently in debt while being married with a baby to take care of.

He also revealed that he never went to a good university which is why he doesn’t have any marketable skills. “I decided to work part-time as a delivery man because I can rest when I want to rest,” he says, which shocks Deavan. He further adds, “On good months, I earned an average of $2000”. Then, Deavan asked why he couldn’t work full-time since he has a family to look after. She divulges that she herself was working 17-hour days while taking care of the kids, while Jihoon was working a part-time job just so he could take naps.

Jihoon’s confession comes as no surprise, especially to some viewers who have been seeing right through his lies since his introduction. Although the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star is always quick to take the blame for his misdoings, he rarely has a solution for them. Speculation about Deavan now being back in the USA is everywhere, especially after her Instagram followers saw her post a picture of baby Taeyang in a red, white, and blue outfit to celebrate the Fourth of July. Incidentally, the picture also received backlash from a few who took it as proof that Deavan is trying to “Americanize” her son.

Surrounded by doubts over whether she will raise their son in South Korea or not, viewers will have to wait it out until the next episode of TLC’s 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs…then, they’ll get to see how this cute reality TV couple’s relationship pans out. 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs Mondays at 9 pm EST on TLC.
