Thaís Ramone’s relationship with Patrick Mendes on 90 Day Fiancé season 9 hasn’t been a hit with fans since the season’s April premiere, with viewers now slamming Thaís’ ungrateful attitude and manipulative behavior. Patrick, who is half Brazilian, met 25-year-old Thaís while visiting family in Brazil. After several more visits to Brazil, 31-year-old Patrick, who once had a career as a professional weightlifter, proposed to Thaís. The newly engaged couple planned for Thaís to move to Texas and live with Patrick and his brother, John, and their season 9 introduction kicked off with Patrick waiting for Thaís at the airport.
As soon as Thaís landed in the United States, however, her relationship with Patrick began to show cracks. Thaís made her dislike of John clear from the start and has not been shy about criticizing Patrick’s brother on 90 Day Fiancé. From questioning John’s drink choices at breakfast to calling him “crazy,” tensions between the three have only grown after the group moved into Patrick’s newly-purchased two-story home. Patrick quickly refuted all of Thaís’ complaints and assured his fiancé that John inhabiting the second floor was only temporary, but it’s clear that Thaís’ opinions (so far) haven’t even slightly shifted.
Despite Patrick striving to provide a good life for Thaís in America, TLC’s June 5 episode showed Thaís continuing to criticize not just Patrick and John, but Patrick’s half-a-million dollar house, calling it “small,” and “a mess.” Thaís’ ungrateful behavior was immediately called out online, Redditor u/Active_Class_9963, ranting that compared to the other men on 90 Day Fiancé, Patrick is “extremely respectful to her, loyal, and overall…a very sweet man.” Scores of other Reddit users were quick to agree and slam Thaís for being unappreciative, with several calling out Thaís for demeaning the house’s size despite living in an even smaller dwelling in Brazil. In addition, Thaís complaining so much despite not providing anything in the relationship rubs viewers the wrong way, with one user commenting, “The fact that she contributes nothing and demands a perfect, expensive mansion makes her a massive, international loser.”

All of that aside, 90 Day Fiancé viewers are especially frustrated with Thaís’ behavior because they don’t like the way she treats John after stating that family was important to her. While some fans acknowledge that Patrick and John are clearly codependent, many agree that Thaís is being unreasonable towards living with her future brother-in-law. “Does she have the right to dislike having her fiancée’s brother living with them? Sure. But girlfriend does not work or contribute to Patrick’s home, and John is his brother,” one Redditor states, continuing that Thaís gives off “major entitled/spoiled brat vibes.” Another points out the relationship between Patrick and John is too complicated for viewers—and apparently even Thaís—to fully comprehend, writing, “There is clearly an attachment between the two brothers we don’t understand. We can’t judge Patrick.”
While Thaís and Patrick’s relationship’s on 90 Day Fiancé started off on a relative good note, viewers are already tired of Thaís. This couple aren’t the only ones under scrutiny either, with fans already determining the season 9 villains as Emily Bieberly, Kara Bass, and Bilal Hazziez. Depending on how Thaís and Patrick’s journey continues to play out, Thaís may find herself added to the list.
