Jovi Dufren from 90 Day Fiancé shocked fans by claiming he’s adopted, but while mother Gwen Eymard revealed he’s lying, Reddit users have seem to have spotted his bio dad during his and Yara’s wedding. The New Orleans resident who works as an ROV supervisor for a living, Jovi has been cast with Yara and baby Mylah in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6. But as Jovi revealed in his latest Instagram Q&A session, he won’t be seen until episode 3. Mother Gwen stepped in to say that Jovi is not adopted and that Monty is his father. But alongside that, 90 Day Fiancé viewers apparently uncovered the identity of Jovi’s biological father, John Dufrene.
Although TLC viewers are skeptical of Jovi and Yara’s love story straight from the start, the 90 Day Fiancé couple soon made them change their views. The “gold digger” tag of Yara got rubbed off quickly, as fatherhood also changed party boy Jovi. While fans were upset with the cast of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6, Jovi and Yara’s announcement came as a happy surprise. Their journey from fighting over white rugs to proving their love during the 90 Day Fiancé season 8 Tell-All had shown how Jovi and Yara had matured after all. Jovi’s maturity was tested again when he joked about being adopted on Instagram.
Prankster Jovi’s mom and 90 Day Fiancé fan-favorite posted a video on her IG explaining how she was married before Monty and Jovi was born from her first marriage. Gwen has later married again to Monty when Jovi was three, so he is the father after all. Still, some fans commented how they had supposedly already seen Jovi’s biological dad before, and that too, in a 90 Day Fiancé episode. A Reddit post by user KiddLePoww saw them asking if a man called John Dufrene was Jovi’s bio father. They shared a link by Lafourche Parish Sheriff Office, which mentioned a story of four individuals getting arrested on drug charges earlier this month.
The blog specified that a man “John Dufrene, 56” was arrested on April 6 following a search of his residence in the South Lafourche area, and the agents finding “suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.” It also carried a mug shot of the individual. A comment by lemonsaresweet09 on the Reddit thread noted, “Hmm Jovi’s middle name is John…” and the OP wondered if 90 Day Fiancé cast member Jovi had changed his name from “Dufrene to Dufren.”
However, a newer comment by user AshtonKechamall read, “Yes, this is the father. They look the same!” The 90 Day Fiancé viewer further stated that he was also at the wedding in Las Vegas. “You can see him when Yara entered and everybody stood up,” explained the fan. Episode 17 of 90 Day Fiancé season 8 presumably has the man who fans think is John Dufrene seated behind “best parent” Gwen and Mony at Yara and Jovi’s wedding ceremony.
