Former 90 Day Fiancé star Hazel Cagalitan has started a GoFundMe after leaving her allegedly verbally abusive marriage with Tarik Myers. The couple last featured on 90 Day Fiancé season 8 and got married towards the end. Even though Tarik seemed very much in love with Hazel, many fans got a bad feeling about their union. During the season, it was revealed that Hazel was bisexual, and she wanted to find a new girlfriend in the United States. The couple spent most of their time finding a girlfriend instead of planning their wedding.
The Philippines native looked more psyched to date a woman than getting married to her American beau. Then, the couple’s shared girlfriend, Minty, was introduced, who created more drama in their lives. Still, Tarik and Hazel appeared on great terms until June 2021. It was the time when Tarik celebrated his first wedding anniversary with Hazel and pampered her with different gifts. However, their marriage went downhill a few days ago when Tarik called Hazel a snake and unfollowed her from Instagram. He told fans that his wife left his house to live with people that he didn’t know.
After leaving Tarik’s house, Hazel needs support from 90 Day Fiancé viewers. She shared a link to her fundraiser on Instagram, hoping to raise $10,000. Hazel’s close friend/brother, Larry Carter, is the organizer of the GoFundMe, who claimed that the 90 Day Fiancé star is in “the healing process of her mental state and in finding a good therapist and a good Lawyer.” Hazel apparently fell into depression after being “mentally, emotionally, and verbally abused” by Tarik. Hazel’s friend wrote, “Mental abuse has the same affect as physical abuse.” Hazel, who has a son in the Philippines, apparently left her “abusive relationship” with nothing, and she now needs help from fans to fight for her rights and everything she has sacrificed.
Larry urged 90 Day Fiancé fans to help either by donating money or by raising awareness about this fundraiser. Within a day, Hazel’s GoFundMe has raised $135. While some fans have already helped Hazel, others think the reality TV star is playing them. A Redditor said (via @danielacap), “I’m sorry but this looks like a get quick money scam.” Another chimed in, “Instead of $10,000, maybe they should ask for the money to buy a one-way ticket home.“
Hazel hasn’t shared any video or post on Instagram to give more details about the alleged abuse she has suffered. Many 90 Day Fiancé fans have made donations in the past. However, they aren’t ready to donate their hard-earned money to Hazel just yet. But that doesn’t necessarily mean that Hazel is lying. It is possible that she doesn’t want to be on social media to avoid Tarik. Still, there are social services organizations in the United States, which might help Hazel in a much better and organized way. 90 Day Fiancé fans are hoping Hazel will get all the help she needs as soon as possible.
