It seems Mahmoud Sherbiny isn’t entirely truthful to Nicole Sherbiny, as 90 Day Fiancé fans have found evidence of that on the show. The young Egyptian man is currently featured in 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way season 4, where he is working on his culturally diverse relationship with his American wife. In a recent episode, the couple showcased an awkward scene where Nicole felt uncomfortable after meeting her husband’s four male friends at a restaurant. The 39-year-old woman accepted that she should’ve listened to her beau, as he was right that mixed get-togethers aren’t “normal” in his city.
While 90 Day Fiancé’s Nicole Sherbiny regretted meeting Mahmoud’s friends and felt shy and awkward at the restaurant, fans have found proof that her husband may have lied to her. Recently, many viewers took to Reddit to discuss how they saw various women enjoying their time with men in the background.
According to fans (via xxatonalxx), there can only be two main reasons for this. Either the couple’s storyline is manufactured, or Mahmoud has purposely lied to make Nicole uncomfortable and never ask for such get-togethers again. Fans in the thread feel it is part of the Egyptian reality star’s plan to assimilate his wife into Egyptian culture.

Mahmoud Sherbiny Could Have Been Raised More Conservatively
90 Day Fiancé star Mahmoud does seem to be a bit more conservative than others and belongs to an orthodox family. The restaurant scene proves that plenty of people do not mind mixed get-togethers and are seemingly less conservative. Hence, the issue is likely Mahmoud. A Redditor wrote, “I don’t think these folks have any issues mingling with each other. Nicole just happened to marry into a conservative family.” It may also be that he did not want his wife to mingle with his friends, as they may also be conservatives like him.
Nicole has gotten some sympathy over the last few weeks, but she is still blamed for marrying Mahmoud and expecting her life to stay like before. The couple’s problems stem from cultural differences, which has been evident in almost all storylines that feature Egyptian-American couples. During 90 Day Fiancé season 9, Yve Arellano and Mohamed Abdelhamed had similar concerns, with the Egyptian man wanting his partner to tone down her lifestyle and be more conservative. Mahmoud likely feels the same for Nicole and wants her to adapt to his culture like other Egyptian women.
Still, it is alarming that Mahmoud isn’t truthful to Nicole about these things. If he can be more upfront about his feelings and tell his wife what he expects from her, there is a chance that the 39-year-old woman will be more enthusiastic about embracing his culture. However, Mahmoud’s lies will only make Nicole despise Egypt more and make her want to return to the United States. Hopefully, the couple will sort out their problems soon, as they do seem to carry love for each other. Unfortunately, there is some suggestion that Nicole and Mahmoud will be one of the couples who’ll quickly break up after the 90 Day Fiancé spin-off concludes.
