The new cast of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After season 7 has been announced, and 90 Day Fiancé fans are not exactly pleased. The new couples include cast members from multiple of the franchise’s spinoffs. Jenny Slatten and Sumit Singh from 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way will be filming in India, where they work to make amends with Sumit’s parents after secretly getting married. Jovi Dufren and Yara Zaya will also be returning for their second season of Happily Ever After?, where the couple will travel to Prague in hopes of helping Yara’s family amid the crisis in Ukraine. Fellow Happily Ever After? alums Elizabeth Potthast and Andrei Castravet will return as well, as Andrei faces the possibility of being deported.
Some of the more controversial cast members to be re-cast include Big Ed Brown and Liz Woods, who surprised fans by getting engaged on 90 Day: The Single Life season 2. The unpopular 90 Day Fiancé couple still have a number of issues to work out, with Ed even questioning Liz on her sexuality in the season trailer. Also making a return will be Kim Menzies and Usman ‘Sojaboy’ Umar from 90 Day Fiancé: Before The 90 Days, as Kim travels back to Nigeria to see where things can go next with Usman. Lastly, the rather controversial Angela Deem will be returning with Michael Ilesanmi, although the trailer reveals that Angela has been talking to a new man in Canada amid struggles with Michael. The seventh couple has yet to be announced.
Fans on Reddit have not had the most enthusiastic reactions to the recent cast announcement, and voiced their disappointment in a Reddit thread posted by sillyhilly77. One of the main couples 90 Day Fiancé viewers criticized was Ed and Liz, with many users confused as to why they were even able to appear, as he and Liz do not have a true 90 Day Fiancé storyline. Reddit user Mmmk9417 commented “I don’t want any more of Big Ed,” and other users were quick to agree. Big Ed has come under fire for many of his actions, including his treatment towards his ex Rose Vega as well as Liz. Ed and Liz even revealed that they had broken up over seven times as a result of Ed’s actions.
Another couple fans were not happy to see make a comeback was Elizabeth and Andrei. Reddit user champagneandpringles wrote “ugh cannot stand Elizabeth and Andrei… talk about clout chasing.” Other users quickly agreed and added that they could not stand Elizabeth and the rest of the Potthast family, who have gotten into arguments with Andrei on every season the couple has appeared on. Fans find Elizabeth’s brother Charlie to be particularly problematic, as he has tried to get physically violent with Andrei on multiple occasions.
The least favorite casted couple however, appears to be Angela and Michael. Reddit user Afknerds said, “So sick of them giving Angela air time.” Angela is one of the most controversial members of the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, as many fans find her very disrespectful. Angela also has a history of becoming very rowdy and aggressive at the many Tell-Alls she’s appeared on. While Angela has always accused Michael of cheating, she is now seen going behind Michael’s back to talk to a new man while still trying to make her marriage work.
Without a doubt, 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After season 7 will be incredibly action filled and dramatic. However, due to the show’s cast, many fans are already skeptical of the upcoming season. With the franchise leaning so heavily on controversial cast members, there are sure to be some viewers who opt to fast-forward through multiple couples’ segments.
