Emily and Kobe met in Xi’an, China, where the Cameroon resident was working as an underwear model and Emily was teaching English. The nightclub encounter changed Emily’s life as Kobe proposed to her two weeks later, and within a month, Emily realized she was pregnant with their eldest son, Koban.
However, once Emily returned to Kansas, Kobe had to go back to Cameroon and wait for his K-1 visa to arrive. Emily loves keeping fans entertained by sharing her throwback photos while keeping track of her fitness progress. Emily described herself as a “wild child” when she spoke about her college days. One of Emily’s friends called her “Skinny minny!” in her photo from 2017, while another said she looked like a “HOTTIE” in a post Emily shared in 2018. Emily looked completely different before her first pregnancy as her hair was long and straight, very different from the hair she has now. Emily’s mid-pregnancy photos show her having a rounded jawline and cheeks compared to her more angular face from her 2017 photos.

In November 2022, Emily conducted a Q&A session on Instagram where a curious fan asked her what she “currently looks like” since she’d been on a weight-loss journey. Emily posted a full-body gym selfie to reveal what she looked like. “Down 55lbs since having Scarlett,” Emily replied. Emily welcomed baby girl Scarlett Ann on October 5, 2021. News of her birth was revealed when Scarlett was almost a year old. However, Emily revealed she had to lose 40 more pounds to reach her weight-loss goal. Emily’s progress was applause-worthy since she had struggled with weight gain in her 20s.
