90 Day Fiancé: Deavan Clegg Says Show’s Editing Puts Her Family at Risk

Deavan is done with the haters! The 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way star has faced a lot of flak from fans over the last few weeks. Considering how her husband Jihoon was the one getting blamed earlier, the reality TV tables turned quite quickly for Deavan. Now that she’s gotten negative feedback about how she acts with Jihoon, Deavan has spoken out against the show’s edit and her Korean husband.

Jihoon Lee and Deavan Clegg are one of the most talked-about couples on this season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way. There was a time when Jihoon was given names such as “loser” and “lazy” by the TLC show’s fans, who feel he’s not being a responsible father and husband. Every episode shows him saying “sorry” multiple times, and Deavan was not enjoying her stay in South Korea at all. To prove that he did have savings and wasn’t lying, Jihoon Lee handed over all his money to Deavan when she asked for it. That was the moment when the American woman became the “bad guy” in the relationship for the viewers. Then came the 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way episode where Drascilla, Deavan’s daughter, ran off into the traffic while she was with Jihoon. Fans saw Deavan and her mother Elicia yelling at Jihoon, who is bawling his eyes out. The child is discovered safe and sound, but fans made sure to call out Deavan for being the irresponsible parent, thus giving Jihoon all their sympathy. Deavan has a different side of the story and is blaming 90 Day Fiancé’s edit for putting her “family’s life in danger.

Deavan recently went live on her Instagram profile to clear up any misconceptions that 90 Day Fiancé fans had about Monday’s episode. As per this story by CheatSheet, Deavan claimed that Jihoon “was playing games on his phone instead of watching Drascilla when she started running.” The reality TV star said that since she was carrying baby Taeyang at that time, and Jihoon was about 10 feet ahead, it was easier for him to run after the child. That’s when she yelled, “Please go run after her, go get her, she’s running”. She was in a panic. Despite seeing a car approach Drascilla, she revealed that Jihoon stopped midway, turned around, and yelled at her instead. “I’m not gonna say exactly what he said because I can’t remember,” Deavan continued. “Like I said, it was over a year ago. But he was cursing at me,” she exclaimed before adding that her mom witnessed a car coming at Drascilla at the same time. “And then [Drascilla] stopped, she listened and came back,” added the concerned mother.

Deavan admitted that she and Elicia should have controlled their tempers during the incident, but feels it was TLC’s editing that blew it out of proportion. She agreed that editing can make things look more dramatic, as is the case with most reality shows: “I know I signed up for this and I agreed to editing that may be a little more dramatized.” However, she felt that 90 Day Fiancé’s editing, especially in the last two episodes, “put her family’s life in danger.”

A couple of days ago, Jihoon posted a screenshot on his Instagram profile where a viewer rudely told him to end his life. Since the last two episodes of 90 Day Fiancé aired, many fans have also started referring to Drascilla with unpleasant names, while some are providing Deavan with suggestions on how to parent her. Back in April, Deavan had taken to Instagram to ask her followers not to attack any of her two young children. The TLC star had then threatened to remove her kids from the show. This happened after she found a video targeted towards her children. Since the events of the show are from a year ago, as per Deavan, she may follow through and get Drascilla and Taeyang out of the upcoming season of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way.

90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way airs Mondays at 9 pm EST on TLC.
