Ariela Weinberg is being mocked by 90 Day Fiancé fans for her “bad acting” in a scene with Biniyam Shibre in episode 8 of season 9. 31-year-old Ariela became pregnant with 32-year-old Biniyam’s baby within three months of their chance encounter in Ethiopia. Ariela made her move to Biniyam’s country, and that’s where their relationship problems began. Ariela and Biniyam clashed over religious and cultural beliefs, including her close relationship with her ex-husband Leandro Fosque. But Ariela came across as even more insecure when she called Biniyam to America due to his spending time with his friends in Addis.
While Ariela seemed okay with Biniyam dancing provocatively with his ex-girlfriend Tsion in a club for work, she almost called it quits when she heard of Biniyam turning their house into a party pad and allegedly being spotted with mystery women. Biniyam having a history of cheating didn’t help, and 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way had addressed Biniyam’s first American wife Bria leaving him due to some suspicious messages on his phone. It was implied that Biniyam had cheated on his dance partner ex as well. So, when Ariela wanted to split with Biniyam due to her doubts, fans supported her decision.
However, a scene in a recent episode of 90 Day Fiancé, which shows Ariela confronting Biniyam for training with a female MMA fighter, seemed scripted to fans. In the scene, Ariela disrespects the fighter called Melissa by asking her why she’s wearing fake eyelashes to the gym and if she has a boyfriend. She tells the camera about how Biniyam should have told her about him being “wrapped up with this woman with her legs all around him” but “as usual he didn’t.” In the comments of TLC’s Instagram post about the scene, fans reacted with, “This is so scripted” in unison.
While fans did note that this is the same Ariela who’s best friends with her ex, they felt embarrassed for her due to her “horrible acting.” One fan wrote that it had to be fake since “cameras don’t follow them around 24/7.” Another TLC viewer spotted a glaring editing mistake in the 90 Day Fiancé couple’s scene which suggests it was manufactured drama. They mentioned that while Ariela was going inside the gym building, her bra straps were red. But when she started interrogating Biniyam and Melissa, she was wearing a different black bra instead.
The current cast of the ongoing 90 Day Fiancé season has been dealing with a lot of backlash from fans who believe their storylines are scripted. For instance, Miona Bell and Jibri Bell have the same username on social media, which confirms they’re married. Both couples, Bilal Hazziez and Shaeeda Sween and Yve Arellano and Mohamed Abdelhamed have done a nikah ceremony long before filming 90 Day Fiancé. Besides, Biniyam and Ariela’s wedding seems to have taken place in December 2021, as per photos posted by her family on Instagram. Along with this, the obviously staged scenes, such as this one with Ariela and Biniyam’s training partner Melissa, are making fans slowly lose faith in the show’s authenticity.
