90 Day Fiancé star Angela Deem is the controversy queen of the franchise for more reasons than one. The 56-year-old found fame by starring in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2 in 2018 with her Nigerian partner Michael Ilesanmi. Angela and Michael’s relationship turned toxic, with frequent fights over her insecurities about how she looks and how old she is. Several celebrities across the globe honored the late rock ‘n’ roll diva Tina Turner in their own way after it was announced she passed away last week. However, it was Angela who made headlines by likening herself to the late singer in an Instagram video. The iconic Tina passed away on May 24, 2023, at the age of 83.
Angela, who’s a fan of hers, made a video with Tina and her faces in split mode as a filter slowly turns Angela into the singer’s doppelganger. Angela was slammed by 90 Day Fiancé critics who found Angela’s actions to be disrespectful. She was asked not to compare herself to the international icon, and Angela was chastised for making Tina’s death about her.

Angela is against her husband Michael having an Instagram account because he could use it to chat with other women and eventually leave her. Angela made a big deal out of Michael refusing to delete his Instagram page and even wrecked his car in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 7. However, in the same season, Angela also introduced her “crush,” Billy, and told Michael about wanting to go to Canada to meet him. Angela has also flirted with her doctors onscreen and on social media, which is hypocritical and only adds to her controversial nature.
Angela Deem’s Feud With Usman “Sojaboy” Umar Was Unexpected
Angela is known to have enemies within the 90 Day Fiancé franchise, and the list is long, including Rebecca Parrott, Avery Mills, or, more famously, Usman Umar, AKA Sojaboy. Angela first got into a fight with Usman during a 90 Day Bares All episode where she claimed he was a “scammer” for marrying and divorcing his American wife, Lisa Hamme. She accused him of giving fellow Nigerians a bad name. What was the most shocking was how Angela had attacked Usman out of the blue, who himself was taken aback by her name-calling.
