Annoyed 90 Day Fiancé fans think Angela Deem tried to steal attention away from Biniyam Shibre’s MMA win. Angela may come across as a great source of entertainment as a reality TV star, but there are many fans who don’t want her to be a part of the franchise. Georgia resident Angela has been a 90 Day Fiancé star since her debut in 90 Day Fiancé: Before the 90 Days season 2 with Michael Ilesanmi. Since 2018, Angela and Michael have appeared together in many spin-offs, with her latest one being 90 Day Diaries, which showed what happened to Angela after her weight loss journey in 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? season 6.
All eyes were on Angela during the Happily Ever After Tell-All when she shocked fans by flashing her new breast implants to the camera. Angela and Michael split during the episode but got back together soon according to their interview in 90 Day: Bares All season 2. However, at the start of the year, Angela’s co-star Usman “Sojaboy” Umar claimed she left Michael and used all of her husband’s Cameo money to buy a house. Usman and Angela took many digs at each other, which wasn’t surprising as she isn’t really known as the friendliest of the co-stars. But spotting Angela in the front row of Biniyam’s MMA fight in 90 Day Fiancé season 9 was a surprise to all.
“THIS GUY HERE IS A RARE ONE. HE CONQUERS WHATEVER HE PUTS HIS MIND AND HEART ##1FAN” Angela wrote in her Instagram caption for a post she made using TV clips from episode 10. Some of Angela’s followers told her about how excited they were to see her in the audience. But a few comments such as, “This isn’t about you,” called Angela out. Reddit user Available_Age7592 shared a behind-the-scenes video of Angela from the day the fight was filmed sometime in August 2021. In the video, Angela is busy making TikToks and starts screaming like a fangirl once she sees Biniyam walking toward the ring. “Angela trying to be the center of attention at Bini’s fight,” the TLC viewer added.
In the comments, fans called Angela “cringe” for making TikTok videos to further her 15 minutes of fame. Someone mentioned that Angela was only featured in the actual episode for a split second, which would have made her furious. Fans wrote that they wouldn’t have known it was Angela if they hadn’t already seen her posting about her NYC visit to see Biniyam’s MMA fight last year. “She looks more annoying IRL than on the show. That’s saying a lot,” wrote SPACE-W33D. Others wondered if Angela wore the same red jumpsuit that she wore on the 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Tell-All after her weight loss.
Despite many requests and even an online petition asking for Angela to get fired from 90 Day Fiancé, TLC has kept her around. Fans are sure that even if Michael and Angela break up and don’t get a new spin-off together, she will like be featured on 90 Day: The Single Life. Whether viewers love or loathe Angela, her name has become synonymous with the franchise–and so has Angela’s weight loss transformation. Considering how tired fans are of seeing Angela hopping from one show to another, it’s best that she wasn’t shown getting involved in Biniyam and Ariela Weinberg’s 90 Day Fiancé season 9 storyline and was reduced to being a part of the crowd.
